About this audiobook

From New York Times bestselling author Kate White comes a gripping novel about one woman’s dangerous quest to recover lost memories someone would rather she never find.

The key to her missing memories could bring relief—or unlock her worst nightmares.

On a cold, rainy morning, finance journalist Ally Linden arrives soaked to the bone at her Manhattan office, only to find that she’s forgotten her keycard. When her boss shows, he’s shocked to see her—because, he explains, she hasn’t worked there in five years.

Ally knows her name, but is having trouble coming up with much beyond that, though after a trip to the psychiatric ER, she begins to piece together important facts: she lives on the Upper West Side; she’s now a freelance journalist; she’s married to a terrific man named Hugh. More memories materialize and yet she still can’t recall anything about the previous two days. Diagnosed as having experienced a dissociative state, she starts to wonder if it may have been triggered by something she saw. Could she have witnessed an accident—or worse—had something happened to her?

Desperate for answers, Ally tries to track where she spent the missing days, but every detail she unearths points to an explanation that’s increasingly ominous, and it’s clear someone wants to prevent her from learning where those forty-eight hours went. In order to uncover the truth, Ally must dig deep into the secrets of her past—and outsmart the person who seems determined to silence her.

Desperate to unearth answers, Ally focuses on figuring out where she spent the missing forty-eight hours. As ominous details of the two days pile up, so does the terrifying pressure: she must recover the time she lost before the time she has left runs out.

Featuring Kate White’s signature twists and turns, Have You Seen Me? is a harrowing tale that will keep listeners guessing until its shocking ending.

I have nothing to say just this stupid word requirement

Slow drag of a book. The twist at the end was good but not as satisfying. Once the twist was revealed I didn’t care anymore and just skipped the last to chapters

Too much time spent describing environments, feelings, and other non-important things. The plot was interesting, but the ending was a surprise yet somehow disappointing.

This book took a lot of energy to get through. My mind would wander during the long and winding rambles, then I’d have to go back to see who she was talking to.

If you’re out of ideas for books, go for it.

A very quick read so enjoyable if you aren't looking for anything very complicated. This was a story of a women who loses her memory over the period of a couple of days and works to piece everything back together. It had a quick pace and a good twist at the end.

I'm still new to Kate White but she did get my attention with the opening of this novel and the subject matter of fugue.

A quick listen over the weekend.
Ally shows up one morning to her office. She is wet from the rain and a tad confused. She ends up collapsing there after she is told that she hadn't worked there for five years. It turns out that she was missing for two whole days where she did not return home. She had suffered a temporary memory loss triggered by some kind of trauma.

Over the next few days she tries to piece together what happened on the two missing days. The action is quick and the author throws in so many red herrings that it is quite hard to know who the baddie is.
In the end the resolution is quick and satisfying, putting together many loose ends that may or may not be related.
I still prefer an Agatha Christie mystery but this one was not bad. I enjoyed this more because of my past familiarity with Manhattan, and its environs. I felt like I made a quick visit to that crazy place, and the characters there surely fit the bill of high-strung New Yorkers.

When Ally Linden arrives at work, she doesn't realise she has been missing for two days. Her husband hasn't realised she is missing because when he last saw her she was storming out after an argument. Bits of her memory return but she still doesn't have answers to her fugue state, and it seems that something deep in her past may have triggered everything. A friend suggests that she may have had a shock, and Ally is inclined to believe that after she finds blood-soaked tissues in her coat pocket.A book that kept me engaged right to the end.

Since I'm not a writer I look to those who do write to tell great stories that surprise and enthrall me. While there are a few surprises in this book I wasn't enthralled. It is a well-written book and the story, while interesting, doesn't take advantage of what it could have been based on the premise. It is a quick read and a good way to spend a "bad weather" afternoon and could be a starting point for readers are just beginning to explore the thriller genre.

Ally shows up for work - at a place she hasn’t worked at for five years. She faints, is hospitalized, and finally is able to retrieve most of her memory, all except for two days. But those two days are what she needs most. Fearful of what she forgot, she hires a PI, and soon, she is fearful for her life. This fast-paced suspenseful thriller will keep you turning pages. There are some twists and dead-ends along the way, before Ally smashes into her forgotten memories. Well written with a satisfying end.

Ally Linden shoes up to work one day, disheveled and without her keys, purse, or her phone. When Damien, The CEO of the company arrives, he wonders why she is there, telling her that she hasn’t worked there in years. So begins Ally’s journey to discover how she lost her memory, and to try and piece her missing days and missing memories back together.Along the way, Ally recalls a traumatic event from her childhood, wondering if that could have been the trigger for her fugue state. Her marriage to Hugh has some fissures, and Hugh admits they had an argument prior to her disappearance. There are many red herrings in this book, and multiple story lines to keep track of as you try to work out what happened to Ally and how everything goes together. I enjoyed this thriller, but I was a bit surprised at what the trigger was, thinking that was just a bit far-fetched.I am thankful to Edelweiss+ for the ARC. #HaveYouSeenMe #KateWhite #Edelweiss

This book has cemented my love of Kate White's books - she has become yet another author where I plan to read everything and anything that she has written. There is just something about her books that I cannot help but enjoy! Have You Seen Me? has such an intriguing premise that I couldn't help but want to read it as soon as I had read the above summary. Unreliable narrators are a popular choice in thrillers but the idea of showing up to work only to find that you don't work there (and haven't for some time) is horrifying to contemplate. I cannot even imagine! I loved that the author then took us one this suspenseful journey where Ally is trying to find her missing memories. I spent my entire time reading this book trying to figure out what was going on and what had caused Ally to disassociate from her life. The short chapters helped to make this book one very tense and fast paced read! My one and only complaint with this book was that I didn't love the ending. I can't really say why without sharing spoilers but I will say that I was a bit unsatisfied with the ending. It wasn't horrible or anything - just a bit unsatisfying (and really it's a me thing more than the book itself honestly). That being said - the fact that I enjoyed this book so much up until that ending still made this book a really enjoyable read for me! I think that this is my 4th book by White and they have all been at least four star reads. I WILL be reading more by White and soon. Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely and can easily recommend it! It was a page turner that kept me reading late into the night. This book is labeled as a novel of suspense which I would definitely agree with as it was a very suspenseful read! There was just a description on bookstagram the other day on the difference between mysteries, thrillers and suspense which has really stuck with me. I think that it's important to try and share what kind of book it is so that people go in with the right expectations (if that's something they worry about I suppose). Anyways, I can easily recommend this one to fans of suspense, those readers who enjoy unreliable narrators (not necessarily the case here but similar feel since Ally is missing memories), and those readers who love a good mystery. Bottom Line: A page turning and suspenseful read that I couldn't stop reading!Disclosure: I received a copy of this book thanks to the publisher. Honest thoughts are my own.
