- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really appreciate Teresa giving references at the end of her work.
This is a Concrete, Practical Book.
How much time will it take? About 4 Hours
I came across this book for specifically understanding -- Goals of Executive Functions. Teresa gives strategies, stories of Children managing. She writes it specifically for Children with special needs.
She also goes into Basic Emotional Regulation. I wish, she had taken, Gloria Wilcox's Emotional Wheel for emotional regulation. Basically, the wheel goes into Core emotions and branches out into feelings.
Also, she failed to mention, meta-emotion for cognitive understanding. Eg: How do you feel, about feeling sad?
She says Concealment, Tolerance, Reappraisal are strategies. Concealment is not recommended, as in the long run, it might lead to health-issues.
Executive Function:
-Create a List
-Schedule
-Reminder
-Create Routine
-Task (How long does it take?)
-Define Success
Overall, A Great Book, I would recommend this to everyone.
This would also help us to understand Children, Learning Behavior, Parenting Techniques.
