About this audiobook
Sara Michaels is also the owner of a self-help clinic and is hell-bent-despite the FBI's warnings-on leading a group of ten women on a two-week sojourn through the Rocky Mountains.
In an effort to protect Sara, the FBI recruits homicide detective Jaime Hutchinson to infiltrate the group and secretly provide the protection they are so certain Sara will need. After some clever maneuvering, Jaime finds herself welcomed by the ten conservative women-who soon begin playing matchmaker with Sara and Jaime.
But then Jaime is reminded of the reason that she has joined this group of women when she's forced to lead them out of the mountains and away from a sniper's bullets. Will Sara finally figure out who is behind the death threats? And will Jaime realize the truth-and be able to save Sara before it's too late?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Meh. Read The Killing room first. This isn’t a sequel but have some repeating characters and spoilers if you read this one first. I was super super bummed to hear Abbey Craden turned Jake’s voice into sounding like John Denver.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wasn’t expecting to like the book.
Thought it was a little bit weird the way you have a group that travels together, don’t know each other well and are like a supportive group.
Quite funny when the characters meet each other and even have some funny moments.
At the end I think the story gets twisted too much, but it is still some good story. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Lots of twists and turns. Loved it. Compelling exciting and romantic.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was great! Really enjoyed the story and narration. Definitely worth a listen if you enjoyed The killing room. Its set in the same mountain range.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A fabulous thriller that captivates the reader until the very end. Again Gerri Hill writes a brilliant work of fiction that had me enthralled
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Gerri Hill is evil. I mean, she's also awesome in so many ways. But, also, evil... Sets up this awesome story and then...But, the evilness of Ms. Hill wasn't where the story started. It started with Jaime, a police Detective in Denver getting called into her Captain's office. He and the FBI agent give her an assignment. She gets to protect a woman named Sara. Sara's also the estranged daughter of a Senator who has recently gotten death threats. But Sara declines protection and so Jaime can't even tell Sara what she's doing. Oh, and did I say this before. They, plus ten other women are on the hike (and under Sara's care) as well. The novel started out as what very much appeared to be a typical lesbian romance fic, but then about halfway in, boom, it turned into quite the thriller with super twisty and very angsty turns. There also seemed to be a crossover with a couple of characters of another of Hill's books (although I don't think I've read that book yet). And I think that an author creating not just a single novel, but a novel universe is always cool.I also liked the characters. Each of the characters were very unique and we got to slowly and very organically meet and get to like them.It was an exciting, thrilling novel and a great read.
