- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Cassie Andreas, the six year old daughter of President Andreas of the United States, escaped into a tunnel of her own psychological making after seeing the people she trusted murderdred around her. President Andreas hired Jessica Riley to help bring Cassie out of her catatonic state when no one else can reach her. Jssica is particularly qualified to help Cassie because her own sister had a similar experience when their parents were killed in a fire. Jessica's sister, Melissa, emerged from her coma with a terrifying talent...she had the ability to see danger in the future.
This is NOT an Eve Duncan book. That is why I read it. There's some physic and telepathic parts, which may seem unreal, but I don't find these parts to lessen the story but make them more interesting. Its not any different then believing in knights in Shinning armor coming and sweeping us off our feet -Real? - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Final Target is an egaging book of suspense thriller. Iris Johansen does a superb job in creating a story of unique problems and gifts for the characters that just keep you wanting more.Final Target is about a child that survives a robbery turned murder. Cassie is a seven year old girl who runs to the safety of the Wind Dancer when she is attacked and almost killed by a robber. Cassie becomes a comotose girl living in her dreams/nightmares.Jessica is the doctor who is trying to get Cassie to come back to reality just like Jessica did for her sister Melissa. The twists and turns of the story keep the pages turning of this suspensed filled thriller. I enjoyed the story and the personalities of the characters. I found myself rooting for Melissa to reveal to her sister the truth about Cassie.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was good, but not exactly what I was expecting. I listened to it in the car (and later discovered that I had the hardcover!), and I didn't particularly like the female reader. I guess I just prefer male readers! Anyhoo, it was a pretty good story if you can suspend belief when it comes to the psychic stuff. I generally liked the interaction between Melissa and Michael, and a death about halfway through the book surprised me.
