About this audiobook
It has been many years since the mayhem was unleashed in Privileged Information. Now Michael McClelland, the brilliant, determined murderer introduced in the first Alan Gregory novel, has left the Colorado State Mental Hospital - and he's coming after Alan's family. The timing couldn't be deadlier; like a wounded animal, Alan is in a deeply vulnerable state, facing severe doubts about his professional life, his marriage, and his own psyche. And McClelland holds the most powerful weapons of all: secrets from Alan's past. Secrets Alan thought he had successfully buried years ago. Secrets not even his wife knows.
Time is running out as Alan scrambles to outwit his nemesis while confronting each of his worst nightmares. His becomes a captivating psychological journey into the events that forever change us, and the relentless drumbeat of the past.
This searing view into the doctor's heart leaves us with a haunting question: How far will someone go to protect all that they know and love?

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Another good read about psychologist Alan Gregory and the mysteries he unravels.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Apparently this is the sequel to another book White wrote with Dr. Alan Gregory in it, but I followed it very well despite having not read the first book. In fact many sections are devoted to filling in parts of the backstory--which might almost be annoying to those already familiar with it. Dr. Gregory is experiencing problems with marriage, but those problems have to take a backseat to bigger concerns when a former patient of Dr. Gregory--who almost killed him and his family--is found to have escaped. Now Dr. Gregory is in pure survival mode as he tries to stay one step ahead of this killer bent on revenge--and who has had a lot of time to come up with an elaborate plot to obtain it.The suspense in this book is great as the reader follows the twists and turns of frightening events imposed on Dr. Gregory by his former patient. I definetly recommend this to fans of thrillers.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have to say this was one of my least favorite of Stephen White's books BUT it was still very good.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Long, dry, boring. Could not finish.
