About this series

"For God's sake, kill me!" Cried undercover DEA Agent Bonnie McCord to members of the Sola Mesa Drug Cartel members as they repeatedly raped her. In Bolivia, where DEA agents are prohibited, her supervisors took the risk of assigning her deep in the heart of the drug-producing region to collect critical intelligence on cartel operations. Her cover was blown by both the US Embassy and a vindictive jilted suitor. Would she spend the remaining days of her life as a "trophy whore" for the Sola Mesa Drug Cartel bosses?

The US Government disclaimed knowledge of her actions and denied any diplomatic or military action to free her. The US President considered her expendable, because good relations with Bolivia outweighed the benefits of sending in a military team to free her.

When a regional CIA Director refused to accept the fact that the US was doing nothing to free McCord, he used his contacts and resources to gather a seasoned and experienced group of retired Special Forces to free her. Would the deals with the devil and illegal covert actions they employed be enough? Or would she be left behind?

Retired Air Force Sergeant Robert Madden thought his wars were behind him, but as he entered Tres Rios, New Mexico, a new war was just beginning. When Madden stops at Tres Rios on his way to California to pursue a doctorate in education, he didn't expect to stay past lunch. A run-in with a local drug lord halts all of his plans. To escape from a corrupt police force and legal action, Madden is given a choice in punishment--state prison or a year teaching troubled kids at the local rural school. Faced with the toughest school he has ever experienced and a local drug lord with a score to settle with Madden, he must use all of his special force's military training and classroom management skills to survive and protect his students.

ROB MADDEN HAS A SCORE TO SETTLE, AND HE IS SAVING VENGEANCE FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT. "Do you hear me, Rob? We know who killed your wife and daughters and where they are." Rob Madden, still holding the cell phone in his shaking hands, tried to grasp what DEA Special Agent Bonnie McCord has just said. Three years ago, his wife and two young daughters were brutally murdered by terrorists as payback for his Special Operations drone strikes on al-Qaeda leaders in Yemen. For Madden, the call halted his plan to complete his doctorate degree in education and triggered a clandestine mission back to the dusty and dangerous oil fields of Yemen for revenge, courtesy of the United States Air Force. Saving Vengeance will have you on the edge of your seat as the unlikely Special Forces team navigates treacherous encounters and high risk maneuvers to find and punish the killers. This suspense story is set in dangerous and unstable Yemen in January through December of 2009, well before the Yemen revolution and the Arab Spring. Although this latest adventure of Rob Madden is historical fiction, I have attempted to portray the locale, circumstances, and characters as authentically as possible. Critical to this story are true, real life terrorist groups that at this period occupied Yemen including: al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula, Shi'a Houthis, and the Islamic State (ISIL). All of the terrorists' personal names mentioned on this novel are strictly fictional, but their actions and affiliations are very real. Of note, many of the 176 terrorists released by the Yemeni government were at one time prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and their terroristic acts continue today. Although many actions and situations described are fictional, our military members, plus our allied partners, face grave dangers everyday attempting to restore peace and stability in the deadly chaos of Yemen.
