In this series, we will be hearing from women about their experience with birth. We will be hearing the in’s and out’s of how their births felt for them, what they chose and why they chose that, and experience it alongside them as they relive it for themselves!

In this episode, we chat with Amanda about her first birth in a hospital. Sometimes our birth plans go out the window in the face of an unpredictable diagnosis, and sometimes inductions are medically indicated. She had to be induced for hypertension at 37 weeks and she talks through how despite having to face the mental challenges of labor, she looks back on her experience in a positive manner. Coming from a medical background as a NICU nurse, she talks through how that affected her birthing process and certain decisions she, in hindsight, would make differently. She talks through the beauty of catching her baby, golden hour, and the bliss of every moment following birth.
