Description
Today’s guest on the podcast is my friend, Karlee Peterson. Karlee shares her career progression from college finals to the NFR, lessons from her past role at Bass Pro Shop, and her instrumental role in establishing the Cowboy Channel. She reflects on the impact of divine timing in her career, earning respect as a woman in leadership, and the importance of humility and empowering your team.
Born & raised in South Dakota, Karlee has a natural passion for agriculture and the western way of life that’s been instilled from a young age. With appreciation for the sport of rodeo and putting it into play on screen, Karlee has used her skill set learned at school and various roles throughout the industry to capitalize on television production and bring rodeo to the major platform.
She understands that a girl in her 20s with a dream for media production and the love for the land and cowboy way of life, there’s always a story to be told. She has produced the broadcast on some of the biggest events of 2023 such as the Inaugural Governor’s Cup, Larry Mahan Memorial, launching the Cowgirl Channel to EP of the NFR Shows. Karlee’s dedication has led to multiple prestigious broadcast awards including Cynopsis Best of the Best in Sports Programming and the PRCA Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
