Description

EPISODE 23In this episode of The Resilient Teacher Podcast, we are talking more about energy levels. Energy levels are sometimes impacted by our mindset, expectations, but it can also be heavily influenced by our overall health and wellness. Because teachers have limited energy due to decision fatigue and stress, it can be difficult to make sustainable changes to things like nutrition which can be used as a TOOL to get our minds and bodies working optimally so that our systems can effectively manage and balance our blood sugar levels, hormones, and all those internal pieces that help our bodies be resilient to stress. Nutrition is a big piece of the puzzle but this episode is NOT about nutrition for weight loss. We are going to be chatting with Bre Baildon, who is my favorite teacher dietician, about how nutrition impacts our energy and stress in and out of the classroom, how to create lasting nutritional change when you don't have motivation, and some ideas for low-prep lunches so you maintain your energy. Bre is a registered dietitian who helps teachers stop stressing about food or their health so that they can gain more time and energy to do the things they truly want to do. She makes healthy eating practical, delicious, and sustainable for educators to feel better and be present in and out of the classroom. As the wife of an international middle school teacher, Bre has worked with educators and schools all around the world to prioritize all aspects of teacher health and wellbeing. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Concordia College and a Master’s degree in Health & Wellness Coaching from Creighton University.
