This week I am so excited for you to meet my new friend Erika Nolan. I have been following Erika for awhile now on Instagram, and her work is right in alignment with what I do, so this conversation was very special to me. Many of you know that I spent much of my summer in the garden, growing and harvesting lots of produce and herbs, and Erika has inspired me the whole way. Here is a little bit about her and how she came to do the work that she is so passionate about...Erika is a licensed landscape horticulturist and the founder of INSTAR, her holistic health and homestead consulting and education business. After spending 6 months volunteering in the Ecuadorian Amazon and then pursuing music in New York City, she got the devastating news that her mother, and best friend, had a brain tumor, soon followed by breast cancer. Erika then decided to return home to New Orleans where she ultimately made growing organic foods and connecting with nature her passion.
