The LSU Tigers dropped their first game of the season against the Florida State Seminoles. It was a loss that will be a bitter taste in the mouths of the Tiger faithful for weeks, months, and even years to come. But it was a hurt that may have eased slightly following the Alabama Crimson Tide's loss to the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies loss to the Miami Hurricanes. Now, the SEC West is wide open and each team in the division has proven to be beatable.
So how do the LSU Tigers take advantage of an SEC West with no clear front runner? It all starts with the Mississippi State Bulldogs this weekend. LSU opens conference play in Starkville this weekend and while the offense was firing and the defense found it's footing in the second half against Grambling this past weekend, they will be tested against a more quality opponent in a must-win game in order to keep SEC Championship hopes alive.
