Micaiah Carter is a New-York based photographer, who portrayed Pharrell Williams, Naomi Osaka, Selena Gomez and others for the likes of Vanity Fair, Vogue, Vice, The New York Times and many more. Micaiah is a remarkable storyteller, and his ability to use photography to transport us into worlds filled with love and tenderness is spellbinding. In our conversation Micaiah opens up about his early memories, looking through his father’s photographs of the 70s Black America and how these provided an early influence for his own creative practice. We also talk about loss and grief, as Micaiah’s father sadly passed away a few years ago, leaving behind countless albums and photographs.
