Description
A divisional victory has eluded the Cincinnati Bengals all season.
From the season-opening loss to Pittsburgh that the Bengals wish they could take back, to a walk-off loss at Baltimore and a cursed Halloween night at Cleveland, Cincinnati has lost its first three divisional games this season.
However, the Bengals are coming out of the bye week well rested and sitting at 5-4 just like last season. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is coming off a home win against the Saints. But the Steelers struggled have been extensive as they sit near the bottom of the AFC North standings at 3-6.
Their quarterback, rookie Kenny Pickett, has been struggling with growing pains. However, the Steelers defense will have their star-studded defenders in defensive end T.J. Watt and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in the lineup on Sunday against the Bengals.
On the flip side, the Bengals boast a top-10 offense and defense each, respectively. They're without wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, but they will get a big boost with nose tackle D.J. Reader back for the first time in seven games.
All of those elements should keep the Bengals competitive and determined to win their fourth game against Pittsburgh in five games dating back to 2020. The Strictly Stripes crew gives its final predictions, preview and explanations as to why they think the Bengals will get that elusive first divisional victory.
This podcast features Mohammad Ahmad, Andrew Gillis and Michael Niziolek.
