Description

This episode returns to the series of guests I’ve had on the show to discuss the healing modality of Brainspotting. My guest today is Thad Frye. Brainspotting is a trauma-healing therapy and peak performance modality discovered by Dr. David Grand. www.brainspotting.com. Thad is the owner of Thad Frye Counseling and is a Certified Brainspotting psychotherapist with In-Depth Therapy in Broomfield, CO. Thad is also proud to be a board member of the Rocky Mountain Brainspotting Institute. Thad is passionate about the healing power of Brainspotting and utilizes it with people grieving the loss of a loved one or going through a major life transition. Please read more about Thad and the Rocky Mountain Brainspotting Institute below. The mantras from this episode: Mantra #1: Brainspotting incorporates a powerful formula which includes a) bio-lateral music, b) an issue identified by the client to explore, c) somatic location of that issue (in other words, where is that issue felt in the body?), d) focused mindfulness, based on the location of the fixed eye location, e) curiosity and f) space held between the practitioner and client so that the client can process the issue. Mantra #2: Sometimes there are simply no words to explain feelings (a powerful aspect of Brainspotting is that talking is not necessarily required). Mantra #3: Brainspotting is different for everyone (and is different every time); there is no set protocol. Mantra #4: You can support someone going through a difficult time simply by being present. Mantra #5: When supporting someone going through a difficult time, it is always best to ask for permission (to tell a story, to offer a hug, to offer any information) Mantra #6: When supporting something going through a difficult time, know that it is about them, not about you. ********** More about Thad Frye Thad has been in the counseling field for over 17 years.
