Description

If you’re struggling to make sense of the role technology plays in our lives, you’re not alone. Many of us are asking questions about boundaries and privacy, but also deeper questions about the purpose digital media has in our lives, and the costs and benefits of its presence. This week, we dive into questions about our digital lives with Bob Hutchins and Jenny Back, authors of Our Digital Soul: Collective Anxiety, Media Trauma and A Path Toward Recovery.    Guest Bio Bob Hutchins is an accomplished and dynamic marketing executive with a 20+ year comprehensive background in marketing in both corporate and small to medium environments across various industries. He is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in digital marketing, consumer psychology, and organizational marketing direction. As a digital marketing expert, author, and cultural interpreter, Bob is uniquely positioned to help brands understand how to communicate and integrate marketing efforts in a style that is human and relatable. His latest book, Finally Human, explores ways brands can use technology and social media to communicate in styles that are human, impactful, and restorative.   Jenny Black is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in Media Trauma—the ways that media impacts our mental health, creativity and productivity. She is the co-author of Our Digital Soul: Collective Anxiety, Media Trauma and A Path Toward Recovery. She hosts the podcast, LOST+FOUND: Lose the Phone. Find the Flow where we follow the journey of one artist as they see how losing their smart phone for 30 days changes their creativity. In 2022, she delivered a Tedx Talk on The Slow Drip of Media Trauma.   For episode homepage, resources and links, visit: https://kristenmanieri.com/episode223    Learn more about coaching: Kristen@kristenmanieri.com    Mentioned in this Episode Guest’s book: Our Digital Soul: Collective Anxiety, Media Trauma and A Path Toward Recovery https://www.amazon.com/Our-Digital-Soul-Collective-Recovery/dp/B0BK4WYLGB/   Guest’s website: https://www.ourdigitalsoul.com/  Host Bio Kristen Manieri is a coach who works with teams to increase both productivity and wellbeing.
