Description
If you've followed the Revolutionary's Garden for any amount of time, you'll know we're obsessed with local sugar sources, especially sugar beets. And we've been dying to do an episode about them! While we briefly cover a range of possible local sugar sources in this episode, we primarily focus on sugar beets. Everything from how and where to grow them, to the harvest and processing of them into sugar syrup, or granulated sugar. If you like our show, please consider supporting us on patreon! We offer our patrons early access to episodes, bonus content, and a direct line to the Rev Garden team! https://www.patreon.com/RevGarden Our show is produced on occupied Duwamish territory. We pay a portion of our shows proceeds in the form of rent to the Duwamish tribe to support them materially as well as reinforce their rightful claims to this land. https://www.realrentduwamish.org/ This episode we would like to recommend The Guerilla History Podcast. Hosted by immunobiologist Henry Hakamaki, Professor Adnan Husain, historian and Director of the School of Religion at Queens University, and Revolutionary Left Radio's Breht O'Shea. It is an incredible podcast on both the history and current status of radical movements. https://guerrillahistory.libsyn.com/
