Description

Sandra Cordero rescues about eighty animals on her property in Roberts Creek, British Columbia off the Sunshine Coast. This includes over fifty battery hens, as well as ducks, goats, pigs, and Nina the Turkey! Batteries are the cages where hens are kept to create an cost-effective egg-laying process, while also causing suffering and distress for the hens by constricting movement, among other harmful conditions. Sandra shares her life journey, her day-to-day life, and why she started her own animal sanctuary. If you would like to stay at Sandra’s Airbnb, look for “Goats on the Rock.” https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12681332 Airbnb is an online room and home-sharing app that is a great alternative to staying at traditional hotels. Farm Sanctuary’s mission is, “to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassionate vegan living.” https://www.farmsanctuary.org Thanks to Deb Ozarko, guest from episode 98, for the connection with Sandra Cordero!   About Nancy and Harold Rhee We have been married over 20 years, fostered over 60 dogs in the past four years, and we love animal rescue and the amazing people who dedicate their lives.
