Description

Dr. Raissa  Fobi is board certified in pediatrics and neonatology and a practicing physician in Washington State. She is a non-US IMG (International Medical Graduate) from the University of Ghana. In 2014, she completed residency at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia Medical Center. In this episode she describes her pathway from South Africa to Ghana and finally to New York while sharing strategic pieces that culminated to her success today! She is brilliant, talented and one secret I have to share is that she is my dear friend who also just happens to be from Cameroon too! On October 4th 2019,  we co-authored the best selling book "Beyond Challenges: Survival Stories of African Immigrant Physicians on Love, Life and the Practice of Medicine". This book is now available for sale on www.drninalum.com for just $15.99. After this episode you may want to read more about her! She blogs with her mother (an ophthalmologist) on www.thefobidoctors.com .

The IMG Roadmap is the only podcast dedicated to guiding International Medical Graduates (IMGs) with success blueprints for this unique pathway. This podcast offers practical tools and equips IMGs with applicable strategies to achieve their “US doctor goals”. I do so by bringing information from successful physicians with first hand experience to students who are still in the process of becoming resident physicians.
