Description
Pulse oximetry is a widely used monitoring method for measuring blood oxygen levels and pulse rate. In newborn babies, pulse oximetry can help clinicians conduct screening tests for lung or heart problems, such as critical congenital heart disease, and it can also be used to monitor during resuscitation. We're talking with Dr. Mitchell Goldstein, Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Neonatal ECMO at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. He is also Emeritus Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Citrus Valley in West Covina, California. Dr. Goldstein will be discussing the role of pulse oximetry in neonatology and the importance of using advanced pulse oximetry equipment.
