Today we're hearing from some local coaches on the west side of the state to get their perspective on what's happening in the World at the moment. In our first hour on this MHSAA Wednesday, Homer High School Varsity Baseball Coach as well as the Superintendant of the district, Scott Salow joined us over the phone to give us some insight into what it’s like for him living with no sports, as well as when he thinks the safest time is to get back at it. He told how it felt having to break the news to his senior athletes. Bill and Scott discussed all of the moving parts that go into their athletic and education departments, and so much more!
In our second hour, DeWitt High School’s Head Varsity Swim Coach Brock Delaney joined us over the phone to give us his perspective on what’s been going on recently. He and Bill discussed what it’s been like since the winter and spring High School were unfortunately canceled. Brock and Huge also talked a lot about what the teachers and coaches are hoping this upcoming fall looks like. Bill wrapped up the hour with some senior shout-outs!
In our final hour today, Wyoming High Schools Head Basketball Coach Thom VanderKlay joined us over the phone. We got to pick his brain on what it was like having to break the news to the senior athletes. He also told us about what he and his family have been doing during this time. Bill and Thom had a great discussion on how this is affecting our daily lives as well as the kids out there have been dealing with everything.  Lastly, we wrapped up each hour by doing some senior shout-outs to all of the seniors who didn’t have the chance to walk across that stage at graduation.
