Description
It was announced earlier this afternoon that the MHSAA and State of Michigan have worked out a plan to allow for the return of fall sports for High School kids throughout the state. Huge wanted to go through the guidelines that the MHSAA released today and wanted to give his opinion on how great this is for the young adult athletes in our state. We discussed this throughout the entirety of the show today.
In our second hour we were joined by Mark Uyl, the Executive Director of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. Mark and his team at the MHSAA have been working with the Governor and the State of Michigan in an effort to allow the return to play for the Football Championships, Volleyball, Swimming and Diving! Mark filled us in on some of the hoops he had to jump through, how the MHSAA and the State plan to carry this out, and much more. We shifted gears slightly and went on to talk about MSU’s football game being cancelled this weekend, the transfer portal, and much more with our friend Tim Staudt.
In our final hour we were joined by MSU head basketball coach Tom Izzo to talk about how he and his team have been handling things through all of the uncertainty this year. He and Huge talked about the improvements the team has been making and to also talk about whether Tom feels they deserve that #4 ranking. We were then joined by Jim Comparoni to talk briefly about Rocky Lombardi entering the transfer portal. We wrapped up the broadcast with our friend Tom Rosenbach from BeeneGarter so he could take Huge’s weekend picks.
