Description
Big 12 fans were introduced to new commissioner Brett Yormark for the first time at Big 12 media days. Yormark, who becomes the fifth commissioner of the league as he replaces Bob Bowlsby, is an outsider. He doesn't know the Big 12. He hasn't been around the conference. He's lost. But he's the perfect fit.
The New Jersey native is going to immediately poach teams from the Pac-12 in order to keep the Big 12 alive.
From Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado, Washington and Oregon, Yormark will take his pick as Pac-12 schools, and those institutions have zero reasons to sit where they are. Their conference is rapidly dying with the loss of USC and UCLA, and there are no regional teams to step in and fill that void. Moreover, Big 12 schools like Oklahoma State and Baylor would never ditch the Big 12 to head west.
With this being the case, Yormark, as could be gathered on Big 12 media day, is going to have a field day. If there is a Pac-12 team to be had and he wants them, he'll stop at nothing to add them aboard and strengthen the Big 12 conference.
On today's show, Drake and Cameron Stuart break down everything from a review of Yormark's press conference to detailing how he'll find a way to put the Big 12 on top in a new era of innovation. This one is good. Oh, and Dave Aranda jumps on at the end.
