The Turning Point - Bridgitte Lesley

    CHAPTER 1

After months of being shunned by the entire community, Bev and Lance knew they had to make drastic changes. Gossip and the grapevine had poisoned everyone against them as a family. Even the children bore the brunt of the chitter chatter. The family had always gone out of their way to support the local community. But after Lance was shown the cold shoulder, and not one person finding out the real facts about the family, and the ordeal they had gone through, they knew things had to change.

The children were beyond excited. Agnes had found the car seat and Matthew sat between the bigger children.

They left home and Lance drove to the mall which was quite a distance. It was the first time they were going on a long trip. The mall would also be quite an experience for the entire family. As they arrived they climbed out of the van and were almost mesmerized by the size of the mall and the number of shops. Lance carried Matthew in his arms. They went to a restaurant for their breakfast which was such a treat. They sat down and Bev stood up and put her hand on Lance's shoulder. I will be back in five minutes.

Lance watched as she walked across the passage to the bank. Bev drew a statement
