    CHAPTER 1

William stopped the car as he pulled up to Chad’s primary school. He smiled as Chad opened the door. Have a good day son. Chad smiled. And you Dad. Chad hopped out of the car and gently closed the door. William looked at all the mothers dropping their children off. He smiled. They probably thought exactly the same when he dropped Chad off. Parents, all doing their duty. William drove off and headed home. He made a detour and stopped off at the corner shop to buy a liter of milk.

William walked in to the store and straight over to the fridge. He opened the fridge door to get a bottle of milk. He looked into the reflection on the door of the fridge. He spotted a young woman who was standing paging through a magazine. William closed the door and smiled. He slowly walked over towards the magazine rack. He picked up one of the magazines. He didn’t even looked at the cover.

Jordan stood browsing through the current I.T. Monthly magazine. She was looking for her monthly ad that she always placed in the magazine. Jordan smiled as she saw her ad. She smiled as she noticed the magazine William had picked up. William had picked up a Woman’s Weekly.

Out of the corner of his eye William looked her over. He had never seen such a lovely figure. She was as sexy as hell. She was dressed in a navy business suit. She wore pantyhose and stilettos. Her fragrance was soft and fresh, not overpowering. He felt his heart rate accelerate. He felt strange as he stood next to her. He felt like taking her in his arms and kissing her. Right there. She had triggered something inside him. She had drawn him like a magnet.

Jordan was leaning forward and he couldn’t see her face. A young man sidled over and stood close. He touched her bottom. Not once, but twice. William noticed the action and felt her discomfort. He saw her grip the magazine tighter. William smiled. You done, sweetheart? He smiled and looked at Jordan and made sure that the offensive young man could hear him. Jordan nodded. Uhu. You honey? The young man quietly disappeared, fast. Jordan chuckled but never looked up. Thanks, honey. William chuckled.

Jordan took the magazine and walked over to the counter. She paid for a box of headache tablets and the magazine.

William took a look at the magazine he had picked up. He smiled and winced. Woman’s Weekly. William chuckled. They both knew he hadn’t really been looking at the magazine.

William watched as Jordan walked out and climbed into a bright red Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet. He looked at the registration. ‘I.T. Guru’. William chuckled. He knew the company well. I.T Guru was his biggest competitor. William smiled.

She didn’t look like an I.T. geek. He wondered what her role in the company would be. She was quite possibly one of the secretaries in the huge corporation. William looked at her car. The company must pay quite well for her to afford a brand new Porsche.

William shook his head and went to the counter to pay for his milk. He walked out of the shop and sat in his car before he started it up. He had experienced the strangest sensation when he had been standing next to her. He had felt so aware of her. Every nerve ending in his body twitched and tingled. He felt warm all over. His insides had flipped over. It was as if he had just come alive. He started his car and headed home, smiling.

Jordan climbed into her car. She smiled. The man who had helped her out of the uncomfortable situation had done her a huge favor. She didn’t enjoy confrontations. While he had stood beside her she had enjoyed the sensation that she had experienced. To explain, it was almost as if a current of electricity had flowed between them. Her stomach had little butterflies. It was like an adrenalin rush. She felt warm and tingly all over. She felt excited.

She smiled. Well, he had definitely woken her dormant little hormones. He was easy on the eye, a real pleasure to look at. And he had a deep rumble of a voice. He even wore a pleasant aftershave, all male and tangy. She enjoyed what she had seen. If he shopped at the corner shop she was sure to bump into him again. She would have to make sure of it. Jordan giggled as she drove to the airport. She hopped on to the plane smiling. She couldn’t stop thinking about the man she had seen. She chuckled. He had definitely left a lasting impression.

Jordan sighed. She would be away for a month. Maybe when she got back home she could head over to the corner store again. Put up a wanted ad. Jordan smiled as she fastened her seatbelt. She looked forward to her trip. She also looked forward to her next trip to the corner store.

William sat in his office. He was going crazy. The new neighbors were the most annoying people ever. They had bought the house next door and for three months he hadn’t heard them. It had been deathly quiet. They never came out. He had only ever seen the red Porsche parked on the pavement. He didn‘t even know who drove it, or whom it belonged to.

The peace and quiet was over. The neighbors had started renovating. They were converting the single story home into an enormous double story. It was proving to be quite an exercise. The work started at seven every morning and ended at seven in the evening. A solid month of banging had gone on. The contractors coming and going, in and out, daily. Walls were broken down, and the home was extended, making it even bigger. Enormous!

William noticed a few satellite dishes had been installed on the roof. He couldn’t understand the reasoning behind them. No expense had been spared. A few solar panels had also been installed on the roof. He could understand the concept of cost saving, having the solar panels installed.

The old paving had been removed and new paving laid. Even the garden had sprinklers installed, on timers. The grass had been removed and had been replaced by a strange kind of grass that didn’t grow. Wonder lawn. No maintenance, no mowing. It was a lush green. It was very appealing to the eye.

Six weeks had gone by. The noise suddenly died down. The renovations were eventually finished and the house had been turned into a massive double story. He wondered why on earth anyone would want such a huge home. He couldn’t understand the reasoning behind it.

There were four garages. He wondered why that was necessary. He had seen the red Porsche next door. No other car had ever pulled up. He smiled and shook his head. Whoever they were definitely didn’t have a problem with finances. They must have spent an absolute fortune on the house.

The house stood empty for a week, sometimes two weekly intervals.

William had only seen the teenage daughter from a distance a few times when the neighbors were home. She had an irritating habit of making a noise at lunch times when he tried to take a break. She would stop at 14h00 when he returned to work. She played loud music late at night and sometimes well into the early hours of the morning. William never saw her parents, which was rather strange.

He grimaced. She was probably a university student. She spent a lot of time at home. Maybe she didn’t need to work. Daddy probably gave her a monthly allowance, judging by the car that she drove.

The house was finally finished. It looked very up market. It certainly increased the value of his property. It had been painted. All the gutters replaced. It was a pleasure to drive up and see the elegant home. It was more like a mansion in comparison to his home.

William smiled. He couldn’t compare his home at all. William’s home had four bedrooms. He had a room for himself, a room for his son Chad, and a spare room for his parents when they spent the night.

He had converted the fourth bedroom into an office for himself. It was a tiny office. It had a desk, a chair, and the bare necessities. He worked on his laptop and didn’t need too much space. He had a tiny kitchen, no dining room, but he had bar stools that fitted beneath the counter in the kitchen. The lounge was rather small.

William sat in his office. It was suddenly so peaceful. Quiet. William smiled. He actually missed all the noise. He had gotten used to the banging and general hub hub coming from next door.

William watched the house light up in the evenings. The neighbours must have had timers installed. He knew no one was home. It had been weeks since he saw any real movement or heard any noises.

    CHAPTER 2

William sat in his office early in the evening. He heard a car pull up. The Porsche. He heard the automated garage door open and the car drive in. He listened and smiled. Must be the teenager. He listened as he heard little wheels being dragged over the paving. It sounded like one of those travelling bags. Lazy man’s luggage as he called it. He listened closer. He could hear her high heels click click on the paving. He heard her mutter. Suddenly the click click vanished. He still heard the wheels. She had probably taken her shoes off. He smiled to himself.

Jordan walked up to the front door and opened it up. She dragged her bags into the house. She picked her bag up and carried it upstairs. She travelled light. She was used to travelling. She was in I.T. and had international accounts that she maintained. Her passport had so many stamps in it that it looked like a thick notepad.

Jordan took a walk around the house. Everything was perfect. Her dream come true.

Jordan unpacked her clothes, throwing her dirty washing into the washing basket. Her suits would be dry-cleaned. She folded them up neatly. The rest could be washed.

Jordan unpacked her toiletries and packed her shoes away. She walked downstairs with her washing and put it straight in to the washing machine. She finished her chore and walked over to the bathroom. She drew her bath and hopped in and lay relaxing.

She had just returned from Holland where she had completed an installation. The project was finished before the deadline. She had earned a huge bonus due to the time frame. Jordan’s projects were all based on timelines. She built bonuses into her quoting system that were generally accepted by her customers. She smiled as she thought about it. She chuckled to herself. Everything ran as planned. She always added two days as a buffer in the time frame for unexpected delays.

Jordan’s home had been renovated. She had her office downstairs with two bedrooms, both en-suite. She had a huge kitchen with brand new appliances. She had a state of the art stove and oven, and a double door fridge and freezer. Just off the kitchen she had a huge dining area with a table that could seat twelve people comfortably. She had a modest size lounge, with a huge fireplace.

Upstairs she had three bedrooms, all en-suite. She also had a huge games and TV room. She smiled. This would be her family home. When she met Mister Right it would be their home. She smiled to herself. She liked to plan ahead.

Jordan had a lot to offer. She owned her own company. She had named it ‘I.T. Guru’. Her competitors all thought the company was owned by a man, because of her name. The name Jordan was not feminine at all. It was a strong name.

Jordan had built her business to be a thriving international concern. Her reputation was good. She came highly recommended. A lot of her business came through recommendations and networking. Jordan made sure to balance her business. She had small, medium and large companies that made up her customer base that she dealt with. She was always aware of competition and how it would compromise her business if she ever lost a large account.

Jordan had a healthy bank balance. She saved every penny. She spent when she needed to but never wasted. She believed in buying quality, not quantity. Even her car and motorbike was top of the range. She had ordered a pitch black SUV and was awaiting delivery. She was insistent on the colour and interior requirements. She expected to wait a while for the delivery of her vehicle. She didn’t mind. She had set her mind on what she wanted. She would wait patiently.

Jordan smiled as she lay in the bath. She was lucky enough to have the income that she had. When her parents had died they had left her well off. She could afford to buy her house cash, pay for the renovations and lay the paving. She didn’t believe in running accounts. She paid cash for everything she owned. The Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet was paid up.

Jordan lay in the bath thinking about her parents. They had made sure that she was comfortable. She lay in the bath and shed a few tears when she thought of her parents. They would be proud. She got out of the bath and grabbed a large fluffy towel. She headed downstairs to tumble dry her clothing before packing everything away. She smiled as she walked around the house in her towel. Jordan made her way over to her office and put the light on. She walked over to her spare desk. She leaned over and made sure she had unplugged all the plugs.

As Jordan put the light on William sat in his office and looked over. He saw her standing in her towel. He smiled. She was lovely from a distance. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She moved so gracefully.

Jordan turned off the light switch and walked over to the kitchen. She made a cup of coffee while she waited. She finished her chore and went to bed, switching all the lights off. She hopped in to bed and slept like a baby.

William watched as all the lights went off. The only light that was on was the one in her bedroom. He watched as she turned out the light. The house was pitch black except for the lights outside, one on each corner of the house and
