Beth finds a library book at the library she reads about a historical couple named Auric and Leanna written by another author. She gets inspired to write her own version of their love story about them being in love in first sight and having obstacles to being together. Auric is a commoner while Leanna is a princess which them marrying each other would be seen with disapproval. Auric leaves Leanna at the castle to go out into the world seeking his fortune to become a titleholder to marry Leanna with society giving approval.
