Ricky’s thinking
Edenia Series
By Beth Hoyer 2023
What are you thinking?
He Ricky was standing on a beached atoll area surrounded by sky blue water not known planet side.
He got memories of himself as named adoptive son offspring nicknamed Ricky but full named identity was Mordecai Mars Junior followed his father raiser also named Mordecai Mars like a passed down name into the temple of one of the main Goddess of Summerland also known as Queen of Heaven. Her servants the deities were always females said to do miraculous things for Rhiannon’s people that had temples. The one he was led into was titled name of Ma-Linda a natural deity goddess of protection for humanoids. The temple was one of multiples towards females’ servants of the Goddess of the Summerland.
The Rhiannon of the nation Rhea was said We worship a female deity as our goddess.
Rhea was multiple islands some almost large enough to be declared continents all joined together as one nation. The islands most of them were known for sandy lands with sands in the land with stones like structures said left behind by the mysterious ancient ones. Their color of blood red in the regional flag came from waters that ran red colored as blood at first when creating watery wells for drinking followed by a clear color to drink. Ricky kept his silence as his father appearing to want to offer a request kept his mouth shut while glancing around he felt bored being in the temple.
My belief is useless I believe in earthly help for miracles.
He thought to himself.
His attitude drove his father to say Belief is strong when one believes in something higher power greater than they are.
His father was there offering request was done saluted the religious sign of respect of arms crossed diagonal onto the front of the chest and bowing forwards. He copied to show respect as traditionally done for female deities in their temples. His father gestured him to come silently which he obeyed. Ricky didn’t protest as his father led him and twinning guards passed the crowd of worshippers to outside to a vehicle that drove to an apartment building in the city that had surrounding sands blowing onto the streets. His father led the way to the apartment using a hand’s palm print to get inside.
Ricky heard his father order the guards You to stay outside till your shift are exchange.
He got inside and found his father sat on the multiple seats’ seat in the main room groaning Oh Andalusia I love you.
He sighed recognizing the naming name of his mother who died soon after adopting him his father habitually kept mourning for her. He ignored his father moaning as he went to explore the apartment finding windows showed a high down below city view that made him nervous. Ricky looked around the apartment finding opposite to each other bedroom suits with attached private rooms with the main room in between. The main room had a doorway that led to the porch he refused to go onto it out of his nervousness hitting him.
I’ll take this bedroom.
He thought he saw the room had a thin sliver of a window with a curtain for black out.
He shut the curtain and plopped himself onto the bed staring at the ceiling lost in thought. Ricky found his attempt to sleep by his father’s head coming into view that spoke There’s another residence in the city is yours to sleep but not in this residence.
He got up without a word eyeing his father who said This residence is my personal residential apartment a break from duties of being the Tsar leader of the authorities the Commanders. If you want back to your residence just simply go out and arrange transportation to get you there. You’re old enough to be independent for you reached legally the age of choice.
Ricky groaned softly seeing his father was serious who added What you do in that residence I assigned you is your decision but when you’re here my rules as I’m the parent and you as the offspring stands.
He walked out to the main room followed by his father said You’re free to go anytime. I need to lie down and nap.
His father left him going into the bedroom suite he lied down on bed wise. Ricky left the apartment glad there weren’t any windows in the hallway but groaned when he saw the elevator had a window to outside he stood away from as the thing made a descend to the lobby floor.
He walked out thinking to himself "What
