Aswan stared at the beautiful blue sky above him with a dreamy haze in his golden eyes.

A wonderful, serene quiet hung over the beach, despite the sounds of the seabirds and the gentle crashing of the waves against the soft sand.

Vati was either asleep or so deeply relaxed it might not make a difference, nestled in the crook of Aswan’s arm with her cheek firmly against his fluffy chest.

Every few moments, she rubbed her face against his fur, making happy sounds that reminded the warrior of a content kitten.
