About this ebook

About the Book
In the early years of his life, Thomas Fletcher was exposed to how family and his belief in God would influence his life.
As a father, he loved his children and wanted them to grow up and live a wonderful life. This was not to be, and within two years, Thomas watched all three of his children pass away.
When Thomas’ last child passed, his thoughts turned to God. Thomas asked God if he were being punished for the life he lived. The prayers within A Little Talk with GOD: Spiritual became a way for him to talk with God. He hopes these prayers become a source of comfort to all those struggling through a similar pain.
About the Author
Thomas Fletcher was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Thomas’ dad worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, so he was introduced to aircraft and flying at a very early age. As a child, Thomas built model airplanes and knew flying was always going to be his dream. That dream was realized in 1974 and lasted for 35 years, and he still has the memories.
Thomas is married to a wonderful woman, and he even believes the good Lord had his hand in making that happen. Thomas is not a perfect Christian, and he still needs to ask for forgiveness every day to make sure he can close his eyes at night feeling right with God.

    Dedication:

I dedicate this book to my children:

    Thomas, my oldest son

    Cheree, my loving daughter

    Travis, my youngest son.

Who are now in the arms of the Lord.

To my wife, Diane, who will be holding my hand

when the Lord calls me home.

To Richard and Kathy, who lost their granddaughter.

The book is also dedicated to God, my grandmother, and Aunt Helen

Who were on speaking terms with the Lord.

If you’re reading these prayers and questions, I ask God, I must tell you I only have my faith that lets me believe he heard me. The questions I asked God really didn’t come with answers. It was not a two-way conversation like I had with my dad when he was still with me. There is a lot of faith and belief on my part, and in fact, I knew faith was a major factor and I was fine with it. So why did I write the prayers and ask the questions? Never hurts to ask as said by many to find the answers you’re looking for. He may not answer until he calls me home. He may think this is a conversation we should have in person. Since I don’t have the ability to speak in Tongues like my grandmother and my aunt, I may just need to wait. I wonder though, if they were still with us, could I ask them what I wanted to know and could they ask God while they were talking to him? I think that’s the child’s way of thinking that I would like to carry with me when I get to meet the Lord. Since were all God’s children, maybe he thinks it’s better to wait. If he gave me answers to all my questions, would I let everyone know ahead of time? That would be too much of a secret to keep and he knows it. I can always look at it this way, he’s just protecting me from myself. I just need to believe that is what he’s doing. So, I’ll just say thank you, Lord, and carry on. There may be a few things I asked you may want to know also. That I think is the way you believe and the path you have taken to meet God. Well, I guess I’ll close for now, that’s the way my grandmother always closed her letters to Mom, and I think I’ll just carry it on. Try to find something worthwhile in these prayers, but my hope is that it will help you find God.

    A LITTLE TALK WITH GOD

As we grow older, we change in ways that give us a different outlook on life concerning what we have done and what may lay ahead. I’ve heard the saying, going through a second childhood, as I’m sure you have, but how have you changed? Is it noticed by others? Perhaps everything has changed around you but you’re still the same old person you have always been with the same view on life that you always had. Since you haven’t changed, perhaps some may think you’re just living in the past or just set in your ways.

What would you change in your life and why? We all have regrets in the past, and if you’re like me, I can think of many things I wish I could go back and change. Well, life is not that way, so you need to accept what you did and live with it until the good Lord calls you home.

As a child, I spent many of my earlier years on a farm. I think the one thing I will never forget, and if you’re young and living on a farm, listen up. Never, and I mean never, tell your grandma you have Nothing to do. I learned this firsthand and it’s as clear in my memory as if it happened yesterday. Grandma just looked at me and said, Come with me, boy. She went up to the little chicken house; we had two.
