My Life and My Country as I See It: A Journey Back in Time
()
About this ebook
Get ready for a wonderful story of realization and redemption.
The author starts to tell his story from childhood into his late 60’s. It seems to be a difficult process, as he made many mistakes along the way. He often resorted to an “I don’t give a crap” attitude which started in his young life and built over time. His attitude caused him not to see how he was living his life or why it was causing him issues. The author’s final understanding was that although he believed in God, he did not have God in his life. As he understood this and began to bring God into his life, things began to change for the better.
As the author continued to process his life, he was presented with issues he didn't understand. He starts to research the history of mankind as we all began, up to the present. The presentation of this research is unique in that he offers it, as he sees it, in his opinion.
The author also goes into the history of the United States and the issues plaguing the nation. However, he also offers solutions to the issues. He does so with an open mind, and without tunnel vision. And he invites you to do the same.

About the Author
To my wife, Maria-Lina Calderon-Coustier, who has put up with me these many years. She has been through the many mistakes I've made and has taken it like an angel. I'm not sure how or why, but if it wasn't for her, her prayers, I would not be here today.
Introduction
I am seventy-five years old. An old man, you might say. I have lived a long time and have experienced a lot. Several astrologists have told me that what I have done in a past life has affected me and that I must pay for it. I'm not sure if that's true or if I even believe in astrology. I have tried to analyze my life and find out what went wrong to help others.
In the first part of the book, you will find my history as I grew up to where I am now. This was a difficult process for me as I brought up issues I had buried long ago. It was a learning process for me to see all the mistakes I've made. But I wanted also to realize the cause. I have spent time thinking about things and jotting down notes. I have been going over and over my notes and thinking about my life to find the cause. I now believe I have found the cause, maybe more than one cause, but it's too late for me to go back and correct them. I'm hoping that reading this can help someone else.
In the second part of this, you will see how I see the history of the world, and you will find what I see as issues in this country. It is my opinion from living through many changes, both in the country and in my own life. I wanted to see how I got here from the beginning.
You might say, Who is this guy who is telling me how to live my life? I'm just an old person who has lived a long time and made many mistakes that took me a long time to figure out. I had to learn many of the mistakes many times over to get it right. Many, I never got right. Some lessons I got were right off the bat. Like a long time ago, I learned how to breathe. I got that one correct in my opinion. I am not telling you how to live your life. I'm just trying to help you move through your life, maybe a little easier, hoping you will look back, with honesty, sooner than I did so you could maybe live a better life.
I'm not trying to tell you what to think. I'm just asking that you open your mind to a perspective that could be different through the life of a person who has investigated the why of things as they are but maybe too late to find the right answers.
There are many opinions out there, some liberal, some conservative. But I believe that for the most part, those opinions are just pushing an agenda and getting paid to do so. I also believe that some do not really believe what they are selling. They are just getting paid well. Think what you will about that.
Although this is not a political book (there are enough of them I think), I do go through some political changes as I saw them as well as changes in me and my life. I will try to put forth an explanation of an illness I see in our country today, an illness we don't have medication for yet. I do believe God will help us out here. Choices need to be made.
My hope is that when reading this writing, you will learn something. I don't need you to agree with me as many will not. It is important to me that you learn to look at life and keep things in perspective. I'm a person who processed life without looking at the why and didn't look for the answer to the question. I have now looked for the whys in my life. I did find answers in my life, and God has helped me with that. My hope is that you will find your answer sooner than I.
As you read through the book, some parts may make you angry. You may want to throw it in the trash and call me an ass. That's okay because this is my opinion. I am looking at my life and what I have observed from a perspective that is my own. I try to offer some solutions and a possible reason for the why, which may put the solution in prospective. If you come up with different solutions, this is great. The more solutions put forth, the better the outcome will be. It is very, very important to me for you to review where you have been in your life so you can make those adjustments to have a much better one.
I am just a common person. I don't have a master's from Harvard or anything. I'm just someone who is looking back. I encourage you to read the book to its end as some of my conclusions may surprise you, or not.
Part 1
Chapter 1
The Beginning
I was born in 1947. I guess you could call me a war baby. As I grew up in the 1950s, I had dreams that I was at my parents' wedding. I didn't tell anyone because I thought it couldn't be true. I believe now that this could have been the beginning of what was to come into my head.
My father came back from World War II and, with his brothers and a very close friend, started a bread
