Chapter One

I knew I shouldn’t be in this sort of situation, running into this side of town, but after getting away from a terrible ex, the last thing I want to do is go back there. But that was in the area where I lived, the college area, and now, I was on the bad side of town.

I began to hold myself against my jacket, looking about and seeing if there was a way out of here. Nothing. I didn’t like the sight of this. In the corner, I could see two people doing what I believed to be a drug deal, or something of that nature. I couldn’t completely tell. I then heard the sound of moaning that sounded akin to two people having sex. Hearing all of these noises about me, all of these different sounds that only made me feel worse, just kind of started to collapse on me. I wanted to leave this place, I wanted to go home.

However, as soon as I thought about this, I knew that going home, where he lived, was only going to make it worse. He was a bastard, and when I found out he did what he did, cheated on me, and then...abused me, I felt like I shouldn’t be around that. I don’t need to be in this sort of situation, this trashy sort of debacle I already thrust myself into, and one I couldn’t leave.

I began to walk down the corner, when I bumped into someone. I then started to leave, but then, they grabbed me, forcing me to fall to the ground as I looked at them.
