    I’m Always Smiling. . .

    Day 1

Since I can remember I’ve longed to see my words in print. It isn’t as if I feel like I’m any more worthy or saved because I write poetry and prose intended to uplift Jesus. It isn’t as if I feel like I can write my way into heaven because I know I can’t. And, it isn’t as if I think I am any closer to Jesus than the person reading these words because that all depends on your personal relationship with the Lord—not the ability to pour out your soul on a blank page. It’s simply that I love to write and that comes with the hope that, sometime, someway, someone will read what I’ve written. I have had that hope for a long, long time, so when I first found someone willing to publish my inklings in their journals, I was excited, exhilarated and enlightened. I felt like the Lord had blessed me and, undoubtedly, He had.

There is always a blessing being poured out on the heart who loves Jesus and longs to do God’s will. Blessings can range from having enough to being enough to giving enough. Blessings can come in hopes, dreams, ideas and even in the lingering inspiration or goodwill. Blessings can come in the sparkle of starlight and in the brilliance of sunlight. Blessings can come.. anywhere, anytime, through anyone. They come, most often though, to the heart who loves and that is something I have found that I must do to feel close to the One who saved my soul—Love! Just love.

I hope you discover love drenching these empty pages, filling them with a light that is so bright you couldn’t dim it even if you tried. I pray that you find grace in these reflections, these pearls—and a song that you can sing on your way to reach out toward your own dreams.

Writing has blessed me and my hope is, that with each of these short writings, you are blessed too! With that, I will move on to page two!

Matthew 13:45–46 (KJV) 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

    Prayer

Live through me, precious Savior. Show me what to say, what to do and when the time comes, who to give the music you sing to me, the pearls you have poured through my heart and soul, leaving me with the hope that these words find a ear who will know these pearls are the ones that can make life better, silence the bitter and promise the beauty. These pages, these pearls, are the ones that you’ve given me—please bless them if and when they touch the hearts of those willing to listen as they read through my witnessing.

    Day 2

Winter is a time for rest. The flowers rest from their flamboyant displays. Trees take off their garments and await the warmth of spring to show off their wardrobe again. The animals hibernate and people stay by the fire instead of the air conditioner. It is a time of rest, a time of waiting, a time of prayer and praise, rejuvenating.

Prayers of praise flow through the empty days as the moon and stars shimmer in the evening and sunlight falls across the snow covered lawns during the daylight hours. Prayers linger on hearts who long to grow closer, discover a more intimate relationship with the God of the universe, and listen to the whispers of hope that beckon souls through the silence that brings grace to our lives.

When I pray, during the Winter, I pray for a faith that is resilient and wise, a faith that lights up hearts and lives, a faith that delights and abides, a faith that shines through the twinkle in my eyes. I long to share my faith with others who also need to feel the rich blessing of a spiritual connection to the One who gave us life and continues to give
