Dusk and Dawn - Rachelle A. Gonzales
Introduction
As I move forward into new beginnings
I must face dusk and dark evenings
Those nights that I feel unsure about tomorrow
All I can do is pray it’s not full of sorrow
I hope this dawn brings so much love
The one I ask from above
New chapters are about to begin
I will wait what will happen in the time being
There’s so much in store waiting for those who believe
That in time things are about to achieve
For now, I just must pray while I wait
Maybe God is still preparing for my mate
I
Love they say is the most important of all
It’s the reason why people do fall
It sums up everything we need
So, there are more of us that we can give
Faith is the one that keeps us human
We believe there’s a higher being among all men
These things here are just temporary
Knowing there’s more afterlife is necessary
Hope is the one who keeps us alive
Knowing there’s tomorrow that we can still jive
It gave us a chance to do better things
Make us look forward to another blessing
Peace is all we always need
Some things are so hard to find
If we can give it to one another
How beautiful life is when we are all together
II
Spring is when the flowers bloom
It takes away the winters gloom
What a wonderful time to enjoy the breeze
It gave us new adventure and a bit of sneeze
Summer is the time to enjoy the sun
Everybody doesn’t want to miss the fun
Beach enthusiast people make the most of it
They have many summers season to beat
Autumn gave a warm feeling inside
As the wind blows and the leaves withered and died
It simply shows how necessary change is
Nature’s way to remind the beauty of life is
Winter came with cold weather and snow
A chilly feeling but glows
The absence of warmth as temperature goes down
But never in our hearts, the flame died down
III
I love the sound of silence in my ears
Seems beautiful music it bears
It makes me calm and gives me peace
My heart and mind feel at ease
Its where I found my sanctuary
A place where I can be who I want to be
My mind keeps flowing with a lot of thoughts
That’s where my poetry goes
It seems I have a world of my own
Through my words, clearly shown
I don’t want to keep my thought inside
Coz it might burst if I let it hide
I’m not the type who spills it out
I’m not the type who won’t shut her mouth
I can easily express what I feel
If you just give me a paper and a quill
I’m used to being in my small crowd
Its where I can be loud
A small circle of friends as it may seem
Its where I put my love and trust since the beginning
