    IRISH ROSE:

    CHAPTER ONE:

Was it by accident that their paths cross or was it fate?

People from complete opposite backgrounds or so it seemed to Jessica.

The rain is pouring down when her car decided to break down.

She cursed under her breath when she hits water and her vehicle dies.

She climbs out in the rain.

She is busy fiddling with the distributor cap torch in her mouth.

    She is soaking wet.

She didn’t realize someone was approaching her until the voice spoke next to her deep manly.

Good evening vehicle problems. Can I be of assistance?

She gets a fright; drops the light she held in her mouth and looks at him in the dimness of the light he held in his own hands.

She great him with a nod of her head.

They both pick the light up and bump their heads.

I am fine just had to dry the parts she should start now.

Without asking he turned the ignition but without success.

"Nope Mamm it seems your vehicle is not going anywhere tonight. You have to get her towed in to have a looked at.

You need to get out of this rain; you don’t want to catch a cold now. Do you?

My driver can drop you off where you need to go."

    She is cross.

    I can’t be without a vehicle. I need a vehicle.

Without asking he takes her bag out of her vehicle close it, with his hand under her elbow he walks her to his waiting vehicle.

Get in! Here are towels dry yourself. We will wait for someone to fetch your vehicle.

Against her will she gets into the warm car. She is freezing.

I’ll wait outside while you put dry clothes on.

The rain subsided she hears him talking to someone and knocks on the window.

You done they will tow your vehicle to the garage and have a look at it in the morning.

    Thank you. she says softly.

Minutes later she saw the flashing lights of a towing vehicle turning with her vehicle.

He climbs in next to her take of his raincoat and dries his hair.

Your bag and other personal things. Let me introduce myself. I am Ivan Pulaski. May I ask were you going in this storm a woman alone?

She looks at him while he talks. A tall man with fair skin well build. His blond hair is cut short his eyes blue, his voice deep and strong with an accent.

I was on my way to Crown Springs I have to go see clients.

I see. Do you have to see them now or only in the morning? May I ask what your name is?

She is busy towel dry her hair. She blushes.

    He watches her.

She is quit a beautiful woman. Tall but not that tall, brown curly hair tumbling in lock on her shoulders. She has green eyes and a fair smooth silky skin. Luscious lips that say kiss me.

One of her curls is half over her cheek.

Without thinking he bent forward turn it in his fingers and put it behind her ear, stroking with his finger against her cheek.

    She blushes and pulls away.

In the morning and it might not be what you thinking. I am a rep. My name is Jessica.

I see, well Jessica I was on my way to the same place to see clients. If you want to, I can see what they can do with your vehicle in the morning or I can borrow you one of our fleet vehicles.

She looked at him and wonders who this man is?

Thank you but I don’t think it will be necessary I will contact them in the morning.

Very well then just say if you need assistance.

    She nods her head.

The rest of the ride they are quit. He is busy with something on his laptop.

She lay back and closes her eyes. She wonders how far this place is.

She opens her eyes when her phone rings.

    Hallo Jessica speaking.

Hallo Jessica did you make it there safely?

No Roy my car broke down but…

You know you must get there we can’t lose this contract this will put us on the map.

He lifts his eyes from his computer and look at her. He wonders who Roy is.

Roy like I said I got a lift. A good Samaritan is helping me out. I will be in time for the meeting tomorrow. Have a good evening.

    You too.

    She looks at him.

The vehicle starts to slow down.

She bends forward and holds her hand out.

I just want to say thank you for your help, I will see you around. We might bump into each tomorrow.

He takes her hand and holds it.

A smile on his face. The pleasure is all mine Jessica we might see each other again."

    The driver opens the door.

He let her climb out first holding her bag.

He rubs with his fingers against her cheek and kisses her forehead.

    Until we meet again Jessica.

She blushes and walks in without looking back.

    She hears him chuckle.

What is wrong with her? She doesn’t even know this man and why does he have such an effect on her.

She is glad for heat in the room. Undress and stand under the shower.

While she is lying in bed, she thinks of the day gone by and the things that happened.

Her last thought before she drifts into sleep is that of her vehicle.

He stands next to the vehicle still with a smile on his face. He looks at her while she walks into the entrance.

What a strange night sir. Says his driver.

    "Indeed Scott, Indeed.

You must have a good evening. I’ll see you Sunday."

He takes his bags and walk towards his suite.

Pour himself a glass of whiskey and stand in front of the open glass doors on the second level of the building.

The place is busy this weekend. He wonders which company she is working for and who is she here to see.

He undresses and lies on the bed before drifting into a deep sleep.

Eight o’clock. She phoned the towing service at the garage to find out what is the verdict on her vehicle.

Miss, she started this morning without a problem but it seems to me that she does need a service.

Thank you. Can you do it for me then I can pick her up on Monday morning.

We can do that. Have a great weekend.

    Same to you.

She gets dress in a white slack pants with a white sjifon shirt. Her high heels and brush her hair. Her curls fall around her face.

She walks down to the restaurant, gets herself breakfast and sits at a table looking out over a beautiful garden.

She hears a man’s voice laughing and look in that direction.

Ivan dressed in a black suit, women hanging onto him.

He looks directly at her. His eyes mock hers.

She smiles lift her cup in the air take a sip and finish eating her breakfast.

He walks past her and sit at the back of her with the two women more people join his group.

He turns around and with an amusing grin on his face.

Morning Jessica you look crisp today. Would you like to join our group?

She swallows her last coffee, stands up and looks at him.

Morning Ivan, thank you but unfortunately, I have to go and prepare for my program at nine. See you around.

She smiles her sweetest smile turn around and walks away.

He sees her curly hair bouncing up and down as she walks and remember how it feels between his fingers.

She seems to be the first women that don’t fall over her feet to be with him.

He turns back to the group but no longer enjoying the women’s company. He wishes breakfast away. He wonders what presentation she is going to do today.

The rest of the day he didn’t see her until after four when he goes to the last presentation for the day.

As he walks in, he sees her standing at the podium talking to some men.

She throws her head backwards when she laughs and touches the arm of one of the men standing next to her.

"He is cross. She jerks away when he touches her but touches other men.

He sits in the middle row and pick up the presentation book.

    The hall is getting full.

She greeted everyone with a smile.

Her eyes scan through the group of people and for a second it rests on him.

She smiles and starts her presentation. A few times their eyes met.

When she is done her eyes rest on him again.

He stood up and walks out with the presentation book in his hands.

The other people clap hands and told her how well done it was.

She wondered what he didn’t like about the presentation.

Some people come forward and ask her questions which she gladly answers.

She turns her back when the last people left and start packing up.

So, you think that your presentation is better than all the others I was listening to since this morning.

She turns around and looks at him.

"I wouldn’t know. What do you classify as better?

I just did my best to sell the products my company is offering to the outside world."

"I see. Now what makes you think that people will buy your products?

    What make it so unique?"

She picks her bag up and turns to him again.

Our products can help the future generation in many ways moving forward, cheaper energy consumption, charging units directly from the sun, water filtration systems that cleans the water from the harsh elements.

Would you mind going to dinner with me. I would like to hear more before I invest in your product. I have to make sure I spend my money at the right place and that I can profit in the long run.

She thinks is this the man she had to impress that Roy was so persistent about. If it is, she must choose her words wisely. She already messed up twice around him.

Thank you I will be delighted to have dinner with you. What time and where?

Six at the doors of the restaurant, dress casually.

She wanted to walk pass him but he pulls her arm back.

His fingers touch her locks and twirl it.

It is beautiful hair that you have Jessica, unusual for a woman of such beauty.

She blushes and says Thank you see you at six.

He looks at her when she walks away.

He would love to know her better.

She walks to her room, takes of her shoes and sits on the bed.

    Hallo Roy.

Hallo Jessica how did it go?

Good a few people are interested and will contact the offices on Monday.

What about Ivan Pulaski? Roy asks

He seems interested. I am having dinner with him tonight. He has more questions for me.

    Great don’t mess it up.

Roy I never mess things up. I always get my clients.

"Just saying Jessica, I heard stories he is hard to please. He is one of the richest men in the world and like beautiful woman. Be careful.

    Keep business with business."

I will Roy phone you tomorrow.

She brushes her hair. Fix her make-up.

Standing at the door she sees all the people enjoying themselves at the pool and entertainment area.

She wishes she was still so care free, but her job takes up most of her time.

She wondered why Roy is so concern about her. She never fell for other clients.

Business is business strictly no strings attached. She thinks again how he touches her face, hair and arm.

Ten to six she walks down to the restaurant.

He is waiting for her and smiles when he sees her, still dress in his suit.

Good evening Jessica care to join me for a drink before we go for supper?

    Hallo Ivan.

With his hand under her elbow he walks into the private bar and sits down next to her.

What would you like to drink?

She thinks if she says water or cool drink he is going to think she is weird. She says instead.

A glass of your sweet white wine. Thank you, barman.

The barman nods his head and smiles at her.

    Which she does in return.

He takes his whiskey glass and takes a sip.

She lifts her glass and takes a sip. Lick with her tongue over her lips.

He thinks it makes most men crazy if a woman does that.

What can you tell me more about the presentation you had today?

She tells him when they develop it and why and how it will pay off in the long run.

They each had three glasses of drinks by the time they stand up.

He puts his hand lightly under her elbow and walk with her to the escalators.

    She frowns at him.

He smiles and says. Dinner upstairs hope you like seafood.

Outside the lift he turns right and opens the first door in the corridor.

He let her walk in first.

She looks around at him but before she could answer he says.

You may be seated the waiter will be with you now.

She walks to the table; he pulls the chair in for her.

He pours her another glass of wine, although she says no.

Do you always feed all your clients so much wine? she asks.

No not all of them some like things that are stronger and some don’t drink at all.

    I see. She says.

They start to eat and talk about the market, his business and more about her presentation.

What do you think of the food? He asks.

It is quite delightful. she says.

    Thank you.

After supper he gets up take her hand and walk with her out to the balcony.

Do you come here a lot? she asks.

Sometimes if my work doesn’t keep me busy I am like you listen to a lot of presentations and choose the best one for my work that will help both companies grows in the long run. But enough about business tell me about you.

She looks at him turn around with her back against the rail.

I grew up in Scotland, middle child of three girls and two boys. Study at the University in Ireland started to work for the company that I am with now.

Will you change if you ever get the chance? he asks.

I would if the pay is good and more perks.

    I see.

He walks in pour himself a cup of coffee.

    Would you like some Jessica?

    Yes please.

He pours for her. Their hands touched.

Your hands are soft and so well-manicured.

He takes her free hand in his and looks at it.

She wants to pull it away but he locks his grip around it pull her closer.

She can smell his whiskey breath against her cheek, aftershave.

His lips touch her cheek and move toward her mouth.

    She jerks back and says.

I don’t think this was part of the business proposition. If you have to excuse me, I have to go I had a busy day and would like to get some rest.

She puts her cup down on the table and walks to the door.

Halfway she stops and says. Thank you for the lovely supper. You can phone your answer through to our offices on Monday and speak to my boss Roy."

    She reaches the door.

    He is behind her.

He pushes her against it and say. The pleasure was all mines Jessica. You are the first woman ever that resists me. I never had that before.

She looked at him with wide eyes.

I don’t mixed business with pleasure. Work is work.

He smiles and holds her against the door with his body.

She wants to push him away but his strong hands grab hers and hold it against his chest. She can feel his heartbeat against her hand. A shivering goes through her body. His hands are warm over hers.

His mouth brush against her lips, kissing her.

    She swallows.

His mouth moves down to her neck, up towards her mouth again.

Can you please let me go Ivan?

He looks at her with narrow eyes.

Very well. I will let you know what I decided. Have a good evening Jessica.

He moves away and let her go.

She opens the door and walks towards the elevator and think. What does he think she is cheap?

She doesn’t even care if they get the contract or not.

She is not sleeping with any man to get a deal for her company then he must stick it where is don’t matter. There were many people that were interested in her presentation.

She looks at her watch ten o’clock.

She hears his laugh when the elevator doors closed.

With haste she walks to her room and lock the door behind her.

Get undress and scrub her body.

He walks back into his room and thinks no other women have
