After waking up from a coma Dawn cannot remember anything from the previous months. She is tormented by dreams and visions of things that are too terrible to remember. She decides to finish her father's book on debunking urban legends and heads to Hawaii with her mother to investigate the Woman in White legend. The more she investigates the more she realizes that the legend may in fact be true and that her best friend Grace was somehow involved in it. Dawn has to try and remember what her father always told her: "99% of all urban legends have a logical explanation, it is the 1% that cannot be explained that are truly frightening." as she tries and separates the legend from the truth.

    To Dawn

    Honolulu Hawaii, 1941

They all were in good spirits as they drove down the narrow winding road and were almost at the Kipapa bridge. It was a good day, they all had a nice time at the beach having a nice relaxing Sunday picnic and now they were heading home. Traffic was light that night and nothing was out of the ordinary. The sun was setting, and he had to turn on his lights to see but the air was warm, and they all had their windows down.

The couple’s young son sat in the back watching the trees as they drove past thinking about going to school the next day. His parents sat there and talked and listened to the radio never presuming something was going to happen.

Then she appeared, directly in front of them at the entrance to the bridge. The driver instinctively swerved to miss the young woman, but the car hit the side of the bridge and rolled down the embankment resting on the driver’s side in the rushing water of the small creek below. Their son was ejected and lay in the grass quite dazed and disheveled by the accident when she reappeared.

To the young boy's terror, the young woman leapt onto the car like she was floating on air and ripped off the passenger side door like it was made of paper. Her face was like a tormented wild animal with eyes that glowed like tiki torches. It was a face that the boy would never forget. He tried to regain his composure as he lay there seeing the whole thing played out like he was in a dream.

He tried his best to stay calm, even though he wanted to scream as she pulled his mother out of the car like she was a pillow filled with feathers. She cupped her head in her hands as she looked at the poor woman face to face, eye to eye. Then what he saw was more than his little mind could comprehend as she seemed to suck the life out of the woman, and she began to age in her grip. This was more than the boy could absorb and he released a scream that could have awoken the dead.

The scream broke the apparition’s concentration and she dropped the poor woman like she was a sack of trash. She looked to the high grass to find the boy staring at her with terror-filled eyes. She was about to make a leap to him and finish him off like his mother when the lights of an oncoming car hit her square in the face. Realizing that she could be caught she ran into the jungle.

The car stopped with a squeal as they realized there was a car in the creek below and a small boy trying his best to crawl up the embankment. The driver and his passenger quickly got out of the car and ran over to the boy and asked him if he was hurt and what happened. The driver ran back to the car and grabbed a flashlight he had in the glove compartment and then headed down to the creek bed to see if he could help those trapped in the car.

He flashed the light down into the open compartment to see the driver was under the water and looked dead.

He said that his mother is down there somewhere. The passenger yelled down to him from the top of the bridge.

He then scurried around the car to see if there was anyone else was nearby and then he found her. He was in a state of shock when the light passed over the woman. She seemed to look more like a mummy than a person that was just alive a few minutes ago. He wasn’t sure what to do, seeing that both driver and passenger were dead he told his friend to go to the nearest house and call the police while he waited with the boy.

I don’t want to stay here, she may come back! The boy said as he started to panic.

    Who might come back?

The girl that did this, she was a woman in a white dress. She caused this accident and attacked my mother. She ran into the jungle when you came, she might come back. He said in a quivering voice.

Ok, kid I don’t know what happened, but we will take you to safety.

They were getting ready to load him into the car and leave when the sheriff arrived with lights flashing.

What happened here? He asked as he got out of his car and approached the two men.

I am not sure; the boy says that a girl in a white dress was standing on the bridge and his father swerved so he wouldn’t hit her.

A woman? He asked in disbelief.

That’s what he said, we were just about to take him to the nearest house and call you.

"What about the driver? Are there any other passengers?

I went down to the wreck and found the father trapped under water, he looks dead. He whispered as he tried to make some distance between them and the boy.

What’s the matter son? The sheriff asked concerned.

It’s the passenger, the kid says it was his mother, but it looks more like something out of a horror movie. I don’t know how to describe it. He said trying to hide his nausea.

Well, you three stay here. I am going to call this in and get an ambulance up here. He told them as he positioned the car's spotlight down to the wreck.

He headed to the wreck trying his best not to fall as he climbed down to the creek bed. He tried to maintain his composure, but his senses were heightened to the fact that something strange had happened, and that the culprit was still at large. Once arriving at the crash, he climbed up the side and shown his light through the door just like the other man did to see the man under the water.

Poor SOB, probably drowned. He whispered to himself.

He then started investigating the surrounding area trying to find the boy’s mother, and just like the other man he found her near the side of the creek lying in a few inches of water.

It was one of those these that would haunt him for the rest of his life. An image that he just couldn’t forget. It was like she was starting to decompose right before his very eyes.

What the heck happened here? He said grabbing his handkerchief and covering his mouth.

He had seen a lot in his carreer but this by far was the most disturbing.

The sheriff has made his way back up to the road when one of his deputies had arrived.

I need the coroner here right away. He demanded of the deputy.

Sure, thing boss. The deputy responded as he headed to his car to make the call to dispatch.

Sheriff, dispatch just got a call about hearing a woman screaming on What’s the Street. The deputy reported back to the sheriff.

Ok, stay here and wait for the coroner, I will take Cletis and go over to the next call.

    Okay, Chief.

The sheriff and another deputy left the scene and headed to the next call. He thought the car accident was strange, but he hadn’t seen anything yet.

He walked into the house after a hard day’s work and sat his lunch bucket on the floor next to the door when he heard something outside. In the darkness all he could see were the glowing eyes of something from Hell. Before he had time to think it bolted into the door knocking him halfway across the room and flat on his back knocking the wind out of him and leaving him quite dazed. His wife ran into the room to see what had happened when she met the demon face to face. Her face was contorted like a crazed animal and here fiery red eyes pierce her soul and left her hypnotized. The Demon lunged forward and grabbed the poor woman by the head and began to suck the life out of her. Her victim wanted to fight, scream do anything to break away, but she was caught in her own person terror. The Demon was using the woman’s own fear to render her helpless, the poor woman stood there gazing into the Demon’s eyes which was like looking into the fires of Hell with the Devil looking back at you.

She was in a state of euphoria when he came to and woke up seeing her attacking his wife. He grabbed the closest thing to him and hit her in the head with a table lamp. The blow did nothing to hurt her but made her loose her connection to the victim which she dropped with a sickening thud. She turned around crazy with rage to see who had interrupted her feeding time.

He then got a good look at terror personified. She held him in her gaze like she did his wife and he stood like a stature frozen unable to move. She smiled and gave off a hideous laugh as she grabbed by the head and started to drain him. He tried with all the strength he had to break free from her grasp, but she was totally overwhelming.

Just like before her concentration was broken, but this time from someone wielding a baseball bat which hit her square in the head with a sickening sound. She her victim once again and with twice as much rage turned to see her new assailant. As she turned, she received another blow from the young born trying to save his mother and father. He went to give her another when she caught the bat with her hand mid swing.

You’ll pay for that. She said in a horrifying whisper.

The boy turned and fled for his life down the hall as she followed being met by another person in the house. She hit the girl like a freight train knocking her on the floor and onto her rear end. Before the girl knew what had happened the Demon picked her up by the arms and pulled until there was a sickening scream of pain and a terrible pop from her arms being pulled from their sockets.

Wap! She was interrupted again. This time she was in a state of uncontrolled rage as she turned and with the speed of a gazelle, she ran the young boy down. She picked him up and with the laugh of a lunatic she met him face to face, eye to eye.

Goodnight, little man. She laughed as she made sure she would be able to finish the job.

This time she left nothing to chance and drained the poor child in a matter of moments. In her crazed state of mind, she held him for a moment and proceeded to stuff his body into the small cabinet in the kitchen.

Her work was far from over as she headed down the hall to finish the job on her young female victim.

The girl screamed in terror as she saw the Demon heading back toward her.

I’ll make your pain go away. She whispered as she smiled at the girl as she drained the life from her shattered body. After she was finished, some sort of human kindness was left in the shell of the human that she once was, and she gently picked up the corpse and laid her on a bed. The lights of an oncoming vehicle flashed through the window of the house startling her into leaving.

The sheriff cautiously drove his car slowly up the drive way looking for anything suspicious. The dispatcher just said that there was a report of a woman screaming at the house. He had his spotlight focused on the door of the house as he got out of his car with his weapon drawn.

He moved slowly to the door which was wide open, and the house was slightly darkened. The
