Praise for You
"Kate's book of poetry isn't just words, it's emotions bled on pages. Each poem digs deep and makes you feel. One poem in particular, with its delightful mentions of massages, lava cakes, and heart-shaped nacho chips, resonated deeply with me. The imagery of frowning faces juxtaposed with radiant smiles encapsulates the roller-coaster of love, and the true essence of our journey captured in scattered pages. Just. Amazing. It was a gentle nudge to always remember to pause and cherish the moments that have defined my marriage over the past two decades. Thank you for sharing your heart, Kate." — Krystal Shannan, USA Today Bestselling Author
"Five stars plus for You! This short read could have been written for me as I navigate the grieving process. Raw, visceral and achingly tender, Kate Tilton's book of poetry ripped me to emotional shreds . . . in a good way. Whether you're living through the hell of a breakup or grieving the death of your soulmate, Kate's exploration of the life cycle of a relationship will resonate deep within." — Lilith Darville, USA Today Bestselling Author
"You, Kate Tilton's thematic collection of connected poems, walks the reader through the life of a relationship. The intimacy shared is apparent, and anyone who has had a broken heart will relate mightily. The prose is emotional yet lean, which I love. I found the book to be an achingly poignant and lovely read. A perfect short read on a rainy day. 5 stars, highly recommended." — Rachel Thompson, Award-Winning Author

You - Kate Tilton
1
Will you be mine,
will you walk by my side?
Will you tell me you missed me,
will I have a reply?
Will you still love me at the end of time,
will you be mine?
2
I cried that night when all was ruined.
When you should have been a man
and instead played the fool.
Since then I do not cry for you.
I cut out my heart and replaced it with ice,
fitting of a spirit, of a heartless
being.
3
And I still love you, though my brain knows better.
Logically, I should be done with you completely.
Logically, it shouldn't hurt.
But the heart does not listen to logic—
that is, unless your heart is made of stone...
4
Compromise.
The word is so fitting of you.
It was always, "It doesn't have to be
your way
or my way—
it can be our way."
Make it work for us.
Us.
The magic word.
You were so invested in us,
