About this ebook

Travis Pendleton was the sole survivor of the Rumbarr gang's vicious ambush on his family. The infamous outlaw gang massacred his entire family and burned their house down. In doing so, they thought they were in the clear from Joseph Pendleton, Travis's father, and a dedicated Texas Ranger who was tracking them down. They murdered Joe Pendleton and his entire family, but they didn't reckon on Travis surviving.

Now, Travis has fully recovered from his wounds. He's also been trained by Sheriff Hall to learn how to shoot a gun, ride a horse, and track a man down. Travis easily took to what the sheriff taught him, driven by his desire to avenge his family.

Under his new identity of Seth Barlow, Travis tracks down the Rumbarr gang to the town of Willow's Peak. He gets information that the gang is active in the town, and he quickly rides there to see if he can get the revenge he desperately seeks.

Chapter One: A Brand New World

Travis Pendleton walked through the saloon's wooden, swinging doors. He tried hard to walk with confidence and security. He stood tall and took short, wide steps. Each movement was calculated, and he tried hard to mask the brewing feelings within him.

When Travis Pendleton entered the saloon, he was anything but confident but he would be damned if he showed it. He felt various emotions rolling inside of him, one overlapping the other. He still felt righteous indignation and rage over how his family had been massacred by the Rumbarr gang, and their house burned down, a few months ago. The trauma of that horrible incident had been burned into his consciousness and it was something he would have to live with for the rest of his life.

He also felt unsure and tense. Travis was nervous and felt like some fretting actor on a stage, putting

on a role he was not meant to play. It was true that after his family's massacre, he had been trained by Sheriff Hall to be a crack shot. He had been trained other skills he had never learned before. And he had excelled in all of them, taking to them like a fish to water. Travis had never been a violent man before. However, he used his rage and thirst for vengeance as fuel to learn his newfound skills. It was the only way for him to have a chance at avenging his family's massacre. Despite everything he had learned, there was still a part of him that was the meek and mild youngest son of Joseph Pendleton. Deep inside of him, the peace loving boy was still there, and he felt unsure of himself and this new role he was playing. Deep inside, Travis wondered if he could put on this facade of being a wandering outlaw
