Lamp of Love
()
About this ebook
Lamp of Love' is a collection of modern English poems dealing with the stern realites as well as direly sombre aspects of life that focus on how man suffers on account of hostile fate and its workings on love in the course of reaching a destination through inscrutable predicaments contrived by despair, disease and death. These collected poems conjure up a real world of melancholy that commands sympathy .The poems virtually celebrate macabre situations by means of philosophical ideas that are related to passions of life weaving a cobweb in a psychosocial domain. My poems generally represent my personal ideology as they overshadow my concepts of pessimism and realism that make a mark on my poetic creativity.

Lamp of Love - Dr. Sirajul Hoque
Lamp Of Love
The lamp dimly burns
To dispel gloom of night,
When meteors fall down
Like dry leaves in a wood.
The lamp dimly burns
In a desolate farmhouse,
Where dream disperses
Like the mist of morning.
Love
Once I hear you sing _
Life's a chimera in earth,
Let's love each other well
When we feel aloneness.
Once I hear you sing _
Let's enjoy all pleasures,
To merge hearts into one
And soar away to heaven.
Love
I throw open all my arms
In a fit of passionate love,
To embrace warm breasts
When my beloved blushes.
I stand erect to kiss cheeks
And wait for warmth of love,
To connect me with heaven
When life turns into eternity.
Lamps
We can see no darkness
When the day gaily breaks,
And dews gleam on grass
Like little lamps of hopes.
We can see no darkness
When the sun gaily shines,
And buds bloom in bower
Like bright lamps of love.
Love
Love seems a strange game
That continues till a sundown,
When I stumble on phylloclade
Of cactus in the dreary desert.
Love seems a unique passion
That makes a soul fall asunder,
When a heart burns with flames
Like a candle till the night ends.
Heart
My heart breaks with gloom
As the night darkens in winter,
The door is kept ajar for long
When I lie alone for a dream.
My heart is merged with hers
Though she lies away from me,
And I feel warmths of her love
As long as I lie awake in bed.
Dream
I dream of you every night
As I strive to win your heart,
So my soul soars to heaven
When you pine for my love.
I dream of you every night
And build a castle in the air,
To live in the land of Utopia
Where love will never fade.
Love
Love's like an angel
With a pure passion,
That sanctifies souls
With celestial peace.
Oh! It's a perfect love
That hallows a heart.
Love's like an infant
With a true innocence,
That makes mind free
To a substantial extent.
Oh! It's a pure passion
That blesses a heart.
Castle
A castle of love I build
Beside the lonely shore,
To see how breeze blows
In sea-scented solitude.
A castle of love I build
Before the busy harbour,
Where lost ships sail back
With cargo-laden prows.
Appeal
Let me tell you more
Than what I feel in love,
It's but a kind of delirium
When I suffer from fever.
Let me tell you again
About the secret of love,
That wipes out all tears
When a heart falls apart.
Love
Some say: Love's a whirlpool
Ready to blow off bond of trust,
While sailing across a vast sea
Through the dark frost of night.
Some say: Love's but a pitfall
Ready to take one inside deep,
If not forewarned for crossing
Through stark ignorance of life.
Bard
I know the language of love
And so I like to write poems,
With all fretful fits of passion
Like a prolific bard of heaven.
I inscribe one's name in heart
With a quill of a blessed bard,
As the earth moves in its orbit
Like the top in a child's hands.
Askings
If you once ask me_
Why do you love so well?
I shall answer point blank:
True love conquers all.
If you again ask me_
Why do you love so much?
I shall try to open my heart
Like a bud to a butterfly.
Love
I wish our love might last
Till the sun will be shining,
And snow will be freezing
On white mountain peaks.
I wish our love might soar
From our hearts to heaven,
Never to perish like phoenix
Till we carry on divine love.
Couple
We're far from the crowds
As a fair couple in the dark,
Nobody can throw us aloof
God made us for each other.
We look altogether as one
As long as we've a true love,
None can separate a couple
While lying in the haze of life.
Forget
If you never forget me
Like a foe that's sworn,
To dry up tears of love
I'll change my passions.
If you never forget me
Like a lover that's lost,
In the dark of oblivions
I'll revive my memories.
Love
O Sweet love!
You weave dreams,
In my broken heart
To perpetuate peace.
O Sweet love!
You build a castle,
In the blue heaven
Like a winged fairy.
Silence
I'm surprised at silence
Of landscape at noonday,
That provides a nap for rest
To remove lassitude of love.
I'm surprised at silence
Of skyscape at midnight,
That provokes love in heart
To forget melancholy of life.
Love
Once I hear you sing _
Life's ephemeral in earth,
Let's love each other well
When we feel loneliness.
Once I hear you sing _
Love's but a divine spirit,
It merges hearts together
To soar about in paradise.
Beloved
O My dear beloved!
Come to my heavy heart,
With all passions of love
That I can find pleasure.
O My dear beloved!
Come to my weary soul,
With all warmths of lust
That I can dive in peace.
Twin
Once I met the twin siblings
One was a lass named Mary,
And another a lad called John
They grew up as two orphans.
Again I saw the forlorn twins
Play near the parents’graves,
In love to take the dead alive
While they were on hopscotch.
Swallow
O My dear swallow!
Let me know your home,
From where you hail flying
To invite summer alone.
O My dear swallow!
Let me know your haven,
From where you call clouds
To chant anthems of love.
Jackdaw
O My dearest jackdaw!
You're a harbinger of day,
I hear you herald a dawn
Before the sun awakes.
O My dearest jackdaw!
You're a precursor of love,
I see you fluttering wings
Before the sun scorches.
Lovers
All lovers are numskulls
That desire to suck honey,
Like the drones in the dark
To seek heaven in dreams.
All lovers are drunkards
That long for casks of
