Teddy and The HUGE Carrot - Tina J. Collins
Dedication
To my best friend and partner, Chris B.
Welcome to my first book (and his!) about Teddy's great adventures! Aside from his very first story, you will find lots of other interesting information included in this book about this very special therapy incorporating the equine.
The therapy is called Equine Assisted Therapy and I've become very interested in all aspects of it because of my desire and need to undertake said therapy myself.
This interest sparked off an idea about this very special character called Teddy. Teddy works as an equine assisted therapy pony and he gets up to all sorts of interesting activities whilst he works and he plays. If you would like to follow Ted on Twitter here is his profile: https://twitter.com/therapyted
Teddy and The Huge Carrot came about after following a very special horse on Twitter named Archie. His favourite treat happens to be carrots, so I thought would happen if he found this tasty vegetable in his field? Then, it felt more natural to me to include Teddy in this story rather than Archie. And, so, his very first adventure was born...
The Story!
One day Teddy spied something really strange in the middle of his field. It looked like grass but it was nothing like the grass he knew. It was green, yes but it was brighter in colour with frills on. What could it be?
He walked over to it and snorted. It was standing up in amongst the grass. But it also looked like it went under the ground and was that a bit of orange he could see?
However, he still didn't know what it was. He walked around it to the left, thinking he could get a better look. No, he still had no idea. He walked around it to the right, perhaps a change of direction would help. No, still didn't recognise it.
So, he used his very sensitive nose and whiskers to identify it and, to his delight and surprise, it smelt exactly like carrot... !
Wow, it was his favourite food of all time! How lucky he was. He could sing for joy.
Of course, he wanted that carrot all for himself but he couldn't do that if it was stuck in the ground. He tried his hooves to dig the carrot out but they weren't meant
