On Living & Dying - James Dobbs

    On Living & Dying

    On living and dying,

    And conditions in between,

    On laughing and crying,

    Over things I have seen,

    On pain and agony,

    Seen on every hand,

    On life and reality,

    And trouble to withstand.

    On indifference and apathy,

    Experienced too often,

    On loving and empathy,

    And what might have been.

    On everything and nothing,

    Ever seeking truth to bring.

    2 Mar 79

    Living Nightmares

    Cry for the children,

    Battered and abused,

    Unable to win,

    Terrified and confused.

    Seeking to please,

    Parents they love,

    To feel the pain ease,

    To avoid the next shove.

    Crying alone in the night,

    Unable to sleep,

    Living in fright,

    Growing ever more deep.

    Living a painful nightmare,

    Which daily they must bear.

    1 Mar 79

    To...

    To find peace,

    For a raging soul,

    To have doubt cease,

    To move toward a goal.

    To live in happiness,

    To smile for real,

    To straighten out life’s mess,

    For once to really feel.

    To make a friend,

    To chase a thought,

    To have troubles end,

For the love by everyone sought.

    To just be me,

    For now and eternity.
