    Harrisburg - Pennsylvania, United States

I am a twenty year old senior Creative Writing major from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Welcome to the Not So Final Show

Shit. We were stuck on the interstate and traffic was not moving. By we, I mean my father and me. The two of us were on our way to another concert, Harry Styles of course, and now we were stuck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike going towards Ohio. We were about an hour and a half from the venue and here we sat, stuck on the road waiting for traffic to clear up. My father, Kevin, and I always go to concerts together. We have seen so many different artists together, I buy the tickets and he just tags along. He’s seen Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Ateez, Conan Gray, and so many more. I like to think he enjoys it, at least he says he does.

My dad is not a small man he’s about five-feet-ten and bulky. Imagine this manly man with a black mustache and everything accompanying his daughter to a Harry Styles concert, not once, but four times. He never wears anything flashy, just a pair of blue jeans and a collared shirt, nothing in comparison to my outlandish outfits. This occasion happened to be stop four. We were on our way to Cleveland, Ohio, just after being in Pittsburgh for the same tour. I do not necessarily like Ohio, I find the entire state to be the strange uncle of the United States, just because.

Anyway, here we were, on our way to Ohio. I had my Harry Styles playlist blasting out of the car speakers. The volume was much louder than my dad allowed, loud enough to give us both headaches. It was smooth sailing for most of the trip. No traffic, no accidents, no other people or cops causing us issues, making this trip as easy as possible (for now).

Going about 85 on the interstate, my dad and I were talking about something stupid, probably about his job at Lumen or how school was going. I don’t remember. Either way, we were enjoying our drive and just having a good time. We always had a great time driving to the concerts together. Kevin always drove and I sat in the passenger seat talking his ear off. I always talked to him about my problems, and he always listened. If I ever have an issue with anything, he is the first person I go to. The two of us have spent many days like this on the road having mini therapy sessions. We talk about my parent’s failing marriage and my hatred for every person I have encountered. This is the time where Kevin gets his pent-up anger at my mom out. I’ve always been a good listener, and he needs a therapist. I do what I can being a twenty-year-old with no therapy license.
