About this ebook

After keeping journals for years, it never entered my mind to write a book. But then COVID-19 hit, and everything changed. I wanted to do something meaningful. I picked up my pen and started writing about all the times I felt the presence of angels. There was one as a child. The rest happened when I was an adult. As I wrote the stories, I felt a tingling along my spine. I thought, If this affects me this way, perhaps others would like to read these stories.

I never dreamed that there were so many times when I either heard a voice or a music box that played a few notes. By the time I had been writing for a couple months, I had all these chapters. I would tell one story to a few friends in my home. Then at a gathering, I would tell another. From the reaction of the people, I came to the conclusion that I had indeed written a book. Then I found Christian Faith Publishers and sent it in to be published. I have been very excited to see my book in print. I also encourage others to feel the joy of time spent in the presence of angels.

Thank you for reading and feel free to tell others about my book.

    Foreword

Among the greatest comforts this life can offer is the feeling of being home. The feeling of leaning back in that same old recliner or rocking chair that's been with you since before you can remember—a subconscious reassurance that you are in a safe place where people love you. Growing up, one of those spots for me was always the wooden chair at the right end of our family dining table. My sister sat across from me, my mother to my left, and my father to my right. Everyone was where they should be, and life was good.

At Grandma's house, I've had quite a few spots. My first was a little toddler-sized chair covered in patches of red and yellow and green. A few years later, it was the giant cardboard box some appliances had come in that my grandpa transformed into a playhouse. Nowadays, when I stop in for a visit, my spot is at the kitchen table, directly across from my grandmother. What made all three of these places special has always been my grandma and, more specifically, her stories.

As my sister and I would play or sip our juice boxes, Grandma would tell us about her childhood, about our dad when he was a kid, or about strangers she'd met years ago. I've always loved my grandma's stories. My favorite of all were those kinds she has compiled into this book, the times she has seen God move miraculously through her life.

Regardless of where life takes me, I know whenever I read the contents of this book, I will feel the same way I did in that cardboard box and that little chair. I will be home.

    Love you, Grandma,

    Brandon Grossi

    The First Encounter

Being raised by a Christian mother was a blessing but painful at times. She took the saying Spare the rod and spoil the child very seriously! She would send us to the yard to get a switch to be used to switch us. I didn't know the thinner the switch, the more sting
