MILES WARREN STOOD on the grungy mats of his gym and clicked his tongue against his teeth. He watched his trainees waddle toward him for their mandatory wrap-up. But one trainee wouldn’t quit.

Keira Hash dipped and spun out of a two-handed chokehold. She bobbed down and away then hopped back to her partner, gesturing for another round.

Keira. Rachel, he barked. Time’s up.

Rachel nodded and wandered over to the group, but Keira kept dodging an imaginary attacker.

Keira! His deep voice boomed in the small space. Her head whipped up. Her fierce green eyes were still dilated with adrenaline.  

Get over here, or you’re gonna have to use that move when your lollygagging ass makes Mitch late for his date tonight.

The group chortled as Mitch brushed off the applause. Two months going strong. Don’t want to blow it.

Keira skipped over to the rest of them. "Because you’re wishing she’d blow you?"

A few people choked as they guzzled their water.

Mitch took it in stride, shrugging off the laughs. That ain’t a crime.

Yeah, but those shorts should be. Keira tugged good-naturedly on the hem of Mitch’s short shorts, circa 1970.

Don’t be a hater because the closest thing you can remember to action is getting hot and heavy with Rachel on the mat.

Rachel pipped up. Not all of us are turned on by a chokehold, Mitch.

Keira snorted and high-fived Rachel.

And some of us want to get home to our six-pack of beer, Miles boomed, trying to regain their attention.

Keira’s gaze sifted to him and turned coy. What do you need another six-pack for? You’re already packin’. Her eyes moved down to his stomach. There was something hungry lurking there.

He couldn’t help but stand a little straighter as his cock twitched. Since their first day of training, he’d known she’d be trouble.

She had the slender body of an imp but the mouth of a hyena. She might’ve been the smallest trainee he’d ever had. The top of her head barely reached his pecs, and he’d bet on his mamma’s life that she weighed no more than a hundred and five pounds.

But she never quit. Seeing her with that nasty grit in her eyes every time she took a hit, seeing her push herself up off the mat after any other person would beg to quit...Well, that kind of attitude was sexy as hell.

Instead of a smart-ass response, he gave a nod and got back to business. He could easily take her in a physical fight, but engaging with her mouth wasn’t a battle he thought he could win.
