    SELF-CONFIDENCE

    Unleashing the Power of Self-Confidence

    BRIAN MYLES

    Introduction

    Entering the No Fear Zone

Nothing magnificent has ever been accomplished outside of the minds of people who dared to think that they were better than the situation.

    —Barton Bruce

Greetings from the no fear zone. You will discover how to cultivate courage, confidence, and unwavering determination in all facets of your life in the pages that follow. You'll discover how to take on life's greatest chances and difficulties with total fearlessness, believing that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

The good news is that you possess more talent and natural ability than you could ever use in a hundred lifetimes, making you exceptionally capable of achieving success, achievement, and fortune. Fear of all types is the only thing keeping you from living the amazing life you deserve, and by the time you finish reading this book, all of your fears will have vanished.

I've spent more than 25 years studying great men and women in an effort to identify the traits and attributes that allow them to do so much more than the typical individual. After reading several books, articles, and research papers on the subject of success, I've concluded that self-confidence is the key component of success in all spheres of life.

Every guy or woman who has ever achieved something extraordinary has shown themselves to be more confident in themselves than the average person. Your future will be limitless when you grow to the point where you have such a strong belief in yourself that you know you can do practically anything you really want.

    The Great Question

A woman who had listened to one of my shows recently wrote to me, telling me how one line had altered her perspective on life as a whole. It was only a simple question: If you knew you could not fail, what one magnificent thing would you dare to dream?

When she started asking herself that question often, her perspective on what was actually achievable for her changed significantly. She was able to see very clearly what it was that she truly wanted to have, be, and do, and she also realized that the only things holding her back were fear and uncertainty in her own talents.

If you had a 100% assurance of success in every endeavour, what would you do differently? What if you were endowed by a powerful force with the ability to accomplish any objective you set for yourself? Put another way, what if you felt totally free to behave in any situation that served your own best interests and you were utterly unafraid of anyone or anything? The truth is that your entire life would change if you were to acquire the trait of unwavering self-confidence.

    Unlimited Self-Confidence

When your self-esteem and ability were higher, you would aim higher, plan more ambitiously, and dedicate yourself to accomplishing goals that are currently only dreams. You would do whatever it took to raise your standard of living and make more money.

You would aim for a finer automobile, a larger home, more elegant clothing, and more enjoyable holidays. You would have a wide range of desires for your loved ones and yourself. You would follow your own desires and not give in to pressure to do what other people think or want you to do. You would define your life according to your own standards and go about your daily life in accordance with your own desires rather than those of other people.

You would be a different person in every aspect of your work life and career if you had more self-confidence. You may choose to request a raise, a promotion, or even a move to a different position, business, or sector. You would jump right in and take any necessary steps to advance in your job.

In the sales industry, you would make more cold calls, improve and amplify your presentations, solicit more orders, and close more deals. If you worked in management, you wouldn't constantly compromise to appease other individuals; instead, you would rearrange your material and human resources to create a work environment that suited you ideally.

More self-assurance would allow you to be bolder and more creative. You would have more originality and be more open to trying out novel concepts and approaches. You would be open to exploring novel and daring options and ready to throw yourself fully into endeavours that are currently just on the back burner of your thoughts.

    More Powerful, Popular, and Persuasive

A limitless amount of self-confidence would make you more influential, well-liked, and persuasive around other people. Everyone would find you more amiable, friendly, and joyful wherever you went. Everyone who knew you would respect, admire, and want to be around you if you spoke out and out plainly in your relationships with others. People would start to look up to you and give you more responsibility because they knew you could do whatever it takes to finish the job. You would be able to see yourself in positions of prominence and status, and people would present you with options and possibilities beyond your current comprehension.

    Dealing with Difficulties

Being more confident in yourself would enable you to handle the inevitable challenges and issues that come with living a daily life. You would always be thinking of ways to make things better, ways to use every given circumstance to your advantage. You would take achievement out of the jaws of adversity and chuckle at obstacles that would depress other people. You would make lemonade out of lemons. It would make you feel unstoppable and unconquerable.

Being more confident in yourself would make you lot more adept at handling challenging individuals and circumstances. You would be a much more skilled negotiator and able to demand and obtain better terms, conditions, and prices on anything you purchased and sold.

    Feel Terrific about Yourself

If you had more self-assurance and an unwavering faith in yourself, nothing would be insurmountable for you. You would feel terrible about yourself beyond all else. You would genuinely be content with every aspect of your life, knowing deep down that you are capable of taking the required actions and making the necessary adjustments to guarantee that your life is precisely how you want it to be.

You would feel an incredible sense of control, which is essential for contentment, health, and optimal performance. Feeling like the captain of your soul and the master of your fate would be the experience.

If you had unrestricted self-assurance, you would feel totally self-reliant and in control of your life. You would have a positive outlook on life, yourself, everyone in it, and everything you do. You would feel powerful, strong, and purposeful. If you were completely confident in yourself, you would definitely be a remarkable person.

    YOU CAN DEVELOP SELF-Confidence

Regretfully, though, it's not that simple. The majority of people have low levels of confidence in themselves, and many have none at all. Humans are inherently prone to uncertainties regarding their own capabilities and anxieties regarding all possible aspects, particularly those that are unknown. According to psychologist Abraham Maslow, men and women have always been selling themselves short in the history of the human race.

Most people have a tendency to view themselves negatively in comparison to others. They focus on their own shortcomings and limitations, which leads them to accept considerably less than what they are truly capable of. The average individual barely makes it through each day, as opposed to having great levels of pride, respect, and self-esteem.

Given the importance of self-confidence and the corresponding self-esteem, why do so few people possess the self-assurance necessary to lead fulfilling lives? There are countless explanations, but the most exciting finding regarding self-confidence may be that it's a mental trait that can be acquired with practice. By following the guidelines in this book, self-confidence can be gradually and methodically increased over time as it is a learnable skill.

The good news is that everyone has some level of self-confidence—more in some areas and less in others—and that by starting from that place, you can work your way up to the point where you can confidently tackle any area that matters to you.

    The Great Law

Approximately 350 BC, Aristotle proposed the law that governs our life, which is arguably the most significant of all. He introduced what he termed the Principle of Causality, stating for the first time that everything that occurs in the cosmos has a cause and that order governs everything.

Known by its scientific name, the law of cause and effect, it is also called the iron law of human fate. The law of cause and effect has the power to either liberate us from our own jail by granting us total freedom, or it can imprison us in a cell of our own choosing. Like the law of gravity, the law is neutral in and of itself.

Cause and effect is a physical and mental law that states there is a definite reason (or causes) for every effect we experience in life. We may track the source of any result we desire more of in life, such as more money or success, and by repeating the cause, we will be able to reap more of the benefits. If we are in sales or company and we are successful, we can pinpoint the precise actions we took to get there; if we repeat the same actions, we will experience the same outcomes.

This law also states that we can trace the causes of any unfavourable effect in our lives, such as being overweight, having too little money, having interpersonal issues, or having unfavourable business circumstances, and by modifying or eliminating the causes, we can get different effects or outcomes.

Nobody really challenges the law of cause and effect since it is so clear-cut and basic. Our world and the cosmos in which we exist are ruled by law, not by chance. Everything that occurs has a purpose. Success and failure are not coincidental.

They have certain causes, and regardless of who we are, the effects are the same when the causes are repeated. This is the nature of the world.

    The Roots of Low Self-Confidence

There are many people in the world who are dissatisfied with their outcomes, yet they nevertheless act, think, say, and do the same things every day, and they are shocked that their activities continue to have the same detrimental repercussions. Einstein defined insanity as continuing to do the same things and expecting to get different results, but this is just not realistic.

The law of cause and effect holds true for our degrees of trust in ourselves as well. There are and have been incredibly confident men and women all around us and throughout human history who have gone on to accomplish remarkable things.

After looking into the lives and stories of these individuals, we discover that some of them had a strong sense of self-worth from an early age, which they acquired from their parents.

But the majority of them began in the same manner that we all do: with underlying sentiments of inferiority and inadequacy. Our parents' negative criticism, lack of love, and other blunders throughout our early years cause us to grow up with low self-esteem, low confidence, and the sense that I'm not good enough in relation to other people.

Many people today struggle tremendously hard on the outside to obtain success because they lack confidence in themselves. Nevertheless, when they do, they feel like imposters on the inside. This so-called fear of success is actually an unworthiness sensation that we never seem to be able to overcome, regardless of how much we succeed. Several prosperous men and women are reciting the lyrics of the Peggy Lee song, Is That All There Is? while observing them at their residences and vehicles.

    You Want to Be Happy

More than anything else, people want to feel truly good about themselves. We desire happiness, positivity, and a sense of wellbeing. Above all, we really want peace of mind, which you can only have when you feel confident in your ability to handle life's demands, including those pertaining to your family, friends, job, clients, social activities, and everything else you are involved in.

According to the law of cause and effect, all we have to do to reap the benefits of great self-confidence is to take part in its causes. Finding out what other extremely self-assured men and women believe, say, and do can help us act in the same way as we will ultimately accomplish the same goals. We shall experience the same thing in the end. We’ll eventually gain invincibility.
