Welcome to Words of Wisdom for the Heart and Soul, A Compilation of Insightful, Powerful Lessons for The Heart and Soul Volume III. Words of Wisdom Volumes l and ll were full of lessons, insights, and guidance from all walks of life. I remember someone sharing some words of wisdom with me that changed my life. I attended a church and wanted my church’s support really bad. It was the same church where I had expressed church hurt, the same church where my ex-husband who abused me went. This was the same church where God told me to stay and not leave after experiencing so many hurtful things. Later, I learned that God had a plan and used me for His Glory!!! The weight of my wanting my church’s support kept me up at night, and I found myself stressed and depressed.

One day, I was at a table with strangers at an event. I did not know anyone at the table. During the event, the strangers and I introduced ourselves, and we would chat on and off doing the event. I never told anyone about what I was going through with my church. Everything was professional.

After the event, I went to the restroom. People were standing in the hallway talking. I walked past a man I had met sitting at my table during the event. He said as I walked by, I need to tell you something. I said, I have to go to the restroom, and I will be right back. The man stood in the same spot when I came out of the restroom. He grabbed my hand and stated, God told me to tell you that your church is not going to support you. I stood frozen, looking into his eyes. I said, What did you say? He repeated it, stating God said, Let it go. My God!!!! I was floored. I said, How could you know such a time? He said, I am just being obedient and telling you what God told me to tell you.

This man did not know me. He did not know what I had been going through. I am a woman of God, and I know for a fact that God will use people to speak to you. This wasn’t the first time God had done this in my life, but this was huge. After hearing these words, it was like a ton of bricks were lifted off me. I said, okay, God, I hear you, and from that day forward, I let it go. God started showing out! He elevated me and blessed me so that many of those in that church who didn’t believe the abuse I suffered at the hands of my ex-husband, those who turned their back on me, could see it all!!! That man doesn’t even know how his words of wisdom changed my life!!!

By the grace of God, I’m who He has called me to be.

The word grace is often referred to as the smooth and elegant movement of something or the polite way one behaves. However, when using the phrase the grace of God, the word grace refers to God’s favor. The Bible defines grace as being the undeserved gift from God. Meaning you are not worthy and did nothing to earn God’s favor.

You may be asking, Ambria, how did I get this gift that I am so undeserving of? Well, I’m glad you asked. The answer to your question can be found in the words written by the apostle Paul.

But to each of us, grace has been given as Christ apportioned it (Ephesians 4:7 NIV).

You may also be thinking, how do I know I have been graced for purpose already? I am here to tell you that you are not the only one to wonder about this. In fact, the prophet Jeremiah was once in this same place, and just like the Lord assured him then, He is assuring you now with the same words.

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart; (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV).

God’s call and favor for you preceded your birth. The words before, formed, knew, and set apart show just how strategic God was when he created you. Before you were born, God had plans for your life. You were made for a specific God-ordained purpose. You were graced for purpose from the start!
