tick tick tick tick

words and their rhymes that are running

in my mind with a beat and a limerick

mess everything inside

outside in

inside out

write a line

versatile

have a quirk

make a style

make it work

nevermind

i am not a poet

but all i do is write

i remember being eleven

when i first got into rap

i remember being thirteen

when my poems were half-assed

i remember turning eighteen

and words took over my mind

it’s a friend

i can’t lie

i like finding words that rhyme

i’m good at sharing thoughts

i love onomatopeias

i like formatting with tab

i’ve never been good with metaphors

or with feelings, for that matter

never found the point of poetry

and all i heard was chatter

...but that was years ago

so join me as i show you

(maybe with pride

and maybe with honour)

some medical rites i followed

to heal my condition

my hatred

my fomo
