Is that that famous racing car driver? Paige’s sister, Kristy, hissed, elbowing her in the side. 

Paige swivelled her head as quickly as Kristy had, only to see a flash of blonde hair and a colourful, elegant gown off in the distance. 

It was too crowded tonight at the cabaret’s opening in Mystika City to make out much of anything, but given the rumours that this evening’s event was destined to be a star-studded one that would cement the nightclub’s position as the premier entertainment venue in the Terra Australis province and beyond, Paige couldn’t entirely discount the possibility that Kristy had just had her first celebrity sighting since they’d been in Mystika City. And they were hardly the only people, most of whom were tourists, walking around wide-eyed. Even their prominent parents, Bastian and Emilia— the latter known to many as Cerberus, also appeared to be enchanted by the scene.

It was a far more exciting way to spend the evening than the Langley sisters were normally used to, and when their mother presented them with the invitations— a gift from their hotel’s concierge— it seemed like the perfect ending to what had been an amazing weeklong holiday. Tomorrow night they would all be back in Celestia City, and all of this would feel like a dream.
