Meditation 52 (Ripples Upon a Pond)

I am the epicenter

of a placid pond,

its glassy surface

undisturbed.

Thoughts like,

tiny pebbles,

set ripples in motion.

I watch them

flow in an

ever widening gyre,

moving out away from me

toward the distant banks.

Drifting farther and farther

from the epicenter (me)

they gradually

fade;

one by one

each ripple lessens

in intensity,

until the pond

(my mind)

is once again

left placid, smooth

and undisturbed.

Meditation 53 (Truth and Self)

Inspired by the teachings of Patanjali

There is only one Truth:

Truth, the All in One.

Each culture

dresses Truth in the precepts

of its peculiar traditions--

the dictates of its own scripture.

Truth is not by

traditions, precepts, scripture,

nor culture.

Truth, the All in One

is Truth.

There is only one Self:

Self, the All in One.

Each individual is a part

of the All in One.

We each think
