    Introduction

    Authoring these poems helped me deal with the grief of losing my wife, Julie. The exercise helped me engage my thoughts with things related and not related to the grief. The goal was to make the grief more manageable, not go away.

    Hopefully, a side effect will be that future friends and relatives will be able to read and know more about this time. Most importantly, will want to know more about Julie and who she was.

    No doubt, the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson had Julie in mind when he authored the following

    in the 1800s.
