Anthony Warren Bardsley
Anthony was born on October 14th 1960, to Warren and Joan Bardsley of 18 Riversdale View Woodley, Stockport, Greater Manchester England. Anthony had 5 sisters and two brothers , but sadly his sister Florence died aged 45 in 2002. (He wrote a poem about Florence called “The Beautiful Butterfly” you will find this in his Anthology.) Anthony's life has certainly not been easy suffering from Mental illness which developed in his teens which he has battled with all his life. In 1965 Anthony moved with his family to 13 Beechwood Avenue Romiley, Stockport. In this house he was to develop his love of Poetry and he has produced a rich grain of work since the 1970's. Anthony's Great Grandfather who was known as Thade Gowran or Timothy McGovern was a writer of Poems and Balads in his native Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, in the Republic Of Ireland. It is felt Anthony has inherited Thades great gift. Anthony received a formal education at St Christopher's Roman Catholic Primary School Romiley and St Peter and Paul's Roman Catholic Secondary School Duckinfield, in Tameside England and Longfield Special School in Stockport England. Throughout his twentys, thirtys, Fortys and now fiftys Anthony has attended courses at local Colleges and Day Centres that have been a therapy for his mental illness and have helped develop his Creative Style. He loves Football and is a keen supporter of his local Club Stockport County. He loves all kinds of Music. He has a great love of the Music particularly of Bob Dylan who is named after his favourite Poet Dylan Thomas who died in New York. Anthony would dearly love to visit New York one day. Anthony has visited Rome, France, Ireland and Wales. Anthony's beloved Parents Joan and Warren died in 2003 and 2013 respectfully. Anthony now lives with his disabled brother Gerard at the family home 13 Beechwood Avenue Romiley with the help of his family and local Care Organisations they are both able to live an independent life. Now Anthony's great wish is to get his poems published in an Anthology of his works. Which we hope you will enjoy reading.
