About this ebook

One year has passed since a string of vicious murders shocked the quiet block of Goshen Street. While deep scars remain for the survivors, William Parson lays in his hospital bed tormented by the murders committed by his hand, but not of his will.

Completely paralyzed, he has no means to communicate. Thought to be in a vegetative state, and utterly despised, he is deprived of music, books, movies or even a single soul to speak to him.

Was he possessed? Did he just snap? At least he can't hurt anyone ever again.

Unless he was telling the truth...

    ATTENDING PHYSICIAN’S NOTE:

The following are transcripts from patient William Parson, age 58. Mr. Parson suffered a traumatic spinal injury (C1-C3) resulting in tetraplegia (paralysis of all extremities, as well as the face and neck). The injury was sustained in a failed suicide attempt falling from a third-story window at this hospital. The attempted suicide followed the murder of his daughter and five friends from his church and the attempted murder of additional members of his church group in April 2023. (See Patient Injury Report 2023-4-13). Mr. Parson was determined to be unresponsive and in a vegetative state from his injuries at the time of his initial assessment.

Due to the patient's injuries, he has not been considered physically or mentally competent to stand trial for the crimes referenced above.

In May of 2023, Emerson Emlano (one of the surviving members of Mr. Parson’s church friend group), discovered that Mr. Parson could use eye movements to respond to questions. Further re-examination and testing determined that Mr. Parson was indeed responsive and appeared to possess sufficient mental faculties to respond appropriately to yes/no and multiple-choice questions. In response to this information, I conducted a preliminary Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and subsequently ordered more thorough neurocognitive testing.

The extent and quality of Mr. Parson’s mental faculties are still in question as he continues to both admit to the alleged criminal acts, but also claims that his actions were controlled by an ‘entity’ other than himself which he simply refers to as Him.

Sufficient funds were raised by charitable groups and a lawsuit against this hospital to obtain the Tobii Dynavox - OptiKey system for Mr. Parson. This computerized system allows the user to type via eye movements as recognized by a sensor pointed at the subject’s eyes.

The transcripts that follow are provided as a record of Mr. Parson’s emotional and psychological well-being.

Please note that Mr. Parson’s claims of mistreatment and abuse by facility staff have not been substantiated and a thorough investigation is being conducted. The presence of claims of harm in this document are not to be considered admission of wrongdoing or neglect.
